Not really sure why we have to put either Wickham or Noble on a pedestal and hail them as the king of prospects. Can't we just say both are promising players whilst retaining a certain degree of cautious optimism without having digs at one to big up the other? Perhaps even take a little pride in the fact that they are at out club?

Good post.

I take great pride that we are finally producing some players that 'might' make the grade, however it pisses me off when I see posters on here seemingly delighted that a young player hasn't made the grade by the age of 20 year old. In the last few month on here I've seen Egan, Knott, Noble and Laing all written off.

To be fair, you are as guilty of doing that as anyone else here. What you mean is that it pisses you off when you see posters writing off Ryan Noble, or simply pointing out that he has yet to make a significant breakthrough in his career.

I threw my name behind Noble's a while ago, but for whatever reason the lad hasn't made much of an impact yet beyond reserve team level. Hopefully that will change soon.

Other than Colback, who is playing in the wrong position, I've never slagged off any of our youth team players coming through. Comical how people people have the nerve to write off people like Egan and Laing just because they were sometimes only a sub in a lower league last season, posters like CK1.gsy(or whatever his name is) who is revelling in it.

I think its more down to your reasoning why Noble is ahead of Wickham.

And FC no9 doesn't count.

:lol::lol:

He's a midfielder, always has been and he's quite decent at it.

Are you the poster formerly known as "Ashbrookelad"?

He said "no" which is precisely the answer Ashbrookelad would give so....

Or is it that Masterplan is Asbrookelad's lass/mistress/uncle.....

Ha'way then tell us how you see more in Noble despite him looking poor and failing to score in The Championship?

Seen enough to suggest that he would be a better option coming off the bench than Wickham.

Aye, them bath times for the kiddy winks are quite an intimate affair

Where's my posts slagging off the young uns then?
Always thought MP, although a bit mental, was ok, but that claim was utter BS :-(

Similar posting style, the bigging up of Noble and more. I had my suspicions. In the end though all you can do is take the lad at his word. :-D

Hell on in here like.
Old and not actually even that funny.

Trust this forum to go overboard again, a 92nd goal against a knackered not very good team in a friendly and he's the next Michael Owen.

Trust this forum to belittle a young Sunderland player before has a chance to show what he can do.
I wonder how many youngsters have been lost to us because of bollocks like that statement.

Jesus wept. They have had the practice with Wickham, now they can close in on Noble, fangs bared.

No different to the way the club seem to treat our youngsters a lot of the time, and more often than not end up letting them go for next to nothing(the exeption being JH)

I hate people who slag off our young players with the exception of me :)

How many of those youngsters they have let go have gone on to bigger and better things? Talent will win out, if you have the bollocks for it.
