as did Bentdner

don't get me started on Bruce, he has destroyed our squad

It's scary that after spending a fortune on players (yes I know about net spend) and signing 33 players in less than 3 years we are 1 place and 1 point above a relegation spot.

I said we should have sacked him after the Brighton game as anyone who starts a game against a decent team without any strikers is obviously an idiot, we had 8 midfield players out there with no strikers ffs...then he put them all on at once as the game was slipping away

After that game I knew he didn't have a clue
The Brighton debacle summed up SB to me.

clueless mate, what kind of fool starts a game without a striker ffs  and yet people defended him for months after that, right up until his sacking people were still saying he was the right man for the job

He could do no wrong in some people's eyes, if he curled one out in the dugout they would have supported him for doing it

There was a letter saying he was still the right man for the job in last weeks Footy Echo some people need a good ................................................................

It doesn't matter if he is as good as Bridges or not, the point is Bridges is just an example of the fact you don't need to be stocky to succeed.

If you had put an extra stone of muscle on Bridges he wouldn't have been as good, it would have taken away from his game.

I'm embarrassed by some of the views on this thread to be honest, it's no the wonder England doesn't produce any skilful players.

We are not exactly blessed with strikers to choose from, MON could do worse but if he does get on, please give the lad more than 10 minutes if he's on the bench

He's gone FFS, I thought this was a thread about Ryan Noble.

What next? McMenemy?

i take it i am not the only one sick to f***ing death of the stone age patta 'he needs to beef up' 'not big enough' 'just a boy' blah blah blah

we currently have options up front of bendtner (will start), Ji and noble. Ji didnt look the business the other day, and hasnt really been a nuisance to many defenders this season. not writing him off at all, just thats the way it has been. Ji is only young and full international, so not saying he is shit or 'never gonna make it' like all the kneejerk faggots, but the situation we find ourselves in at this precise minute in time is that we need goals, we are at home against one of the leagues poorer teams, and we need to win. we have a lad banging in 10 goals in 4 games for the youths/reserves. can anyone explain why the fuck not to give him a start? whats the worst that could happen? we dont score? the one thing we have been missing since last january is someone to pounce on loose ball and smash the fucker into the back of the net whenever that chance comes (usually only once or twice a game) - i cant see anyone in our first team squad that i would wage money on doing that. hoy f***ing noble in man FFS

Totally agree .... good post

Goal machine Noble

Kinel that's a season average of >2 goals a game and 3 hat tricks in the last 4 games now.

Get the lad in the first team, from kick off.

Sunderland Res 6 Manchester United Res 3

Ryan Noble slammed home four goals against league leaders Manchester United with new manager Martin O'Neill looking on.

United had conceded just seven league goals this season but they were hit for six by a hard-grafting Sunderland side who deserved every inch of their big win.

The Black Cats came from behind to lead 2-1 at the break thanks to strikes from David Meyler and Craig Gardner before Noble took over, bagging all of his quartet of goals in the second half.

The frontman scored twice in the early stages of the second period to put his side 4-1 ahead. United made a game of it with two replies only for Noble to round off a remarkable evening with a further two goals of his own.

The striker's quadruple takes his tally to 11 for the season in just five games, including three hat-tricks in his last four outings.

Noble's performance will hit the headlines but it was an excellent overall team display from Keith Bertschin's side, with James McClean prominent amongst the supporting cast.

And new boss O'Neill will have been impressed with what he saw after taking his place in the stands to watch a strong team take on the Red Devils on a bitterly cold evening.

Gardner and David Vaughan both completed an hour, while Titus Bramble played 78 minutes and Meyler motored through the full duration in typically energetic fashion.

There was little sign of what was to come, however, when United took the lead with the first chance of the game on 14 minutes.

Michael Fornasier fed the ball across the box and found Marnick Vermijl, who took a step inside and curled a superb shot in off Trevor Carson's far
post.

The Sunderland keeper had no chance.

The highly-rated Will Keane threatened a second goal just before the half-hour, beating Bramble to a punt forward and attempting to lift the ball over Carson, who managed to get the top of his head in the way and deflect the effort over the top.

Sunderland replied with a low 20-yard shot from Gardner which bounced awkwardly in front of Tomasz Kuszczak before the United keeper succesfully dropped on the ball.

And the hosts were level nine minutes before the break when Meyler bundled the ball home from close range.

Michael Liddle crossed low from the left and although Meyler's initial shot was blocked by Michael Keane, the midfielder followed up to take a touch before tucking the ball into the corner of the goal.

Sunderland were energised by the goal and Gardner almost added a second when he headed over after Noble's cross caught the wind and veered towards goal.

But the midfielder wasn't to be denied as he found the net a minute before the break.

Jordan Cook was felled by a United defender on the edge of the box and the former Birmingham man lashed the resulting free kick low into Kuszczak's bottom left-hand corner.

Sunderland began the second half the way they ended the first and extended their lead through leading scorer Noble three minutes after the restart.

A sublime piece of skill from McClean on the left took him away from his marker and Noble turned on a sixpence to ram home the winger's cross from 10 yards.

It got even better for the young striker who doubled his tally on 53 minutes, finishing beautifully under Kuszczak following Gardner's incisive through ball.

However, United were back in it five minutes later when Michael Keane was allowed to advance down the right and fire a low shot across Carson and into the far corner.

And the other Keane brother - Will - pegged Sunderland back at 4-3 with 64 minutes played, racing onto a clever through ball to finish smartly past Carson.

But any thoughts United had of a comeback were extinguished by that man Noble, who completed yet another hat-trick just a minute after the visitors' reply.

McClean swung in another great cross from the left and there was Noble to deftly nod the ball into the corner from close range.
Tom Thorpe came close to pulling another goal back late on, but it was

Noble who had the final say, bundling the ball home from close range in a scramble to complete his quadruple two minutes from time.

Sunderland: Carson, Bagnall, Liddle, Bramble (Egan, 78), Kilgallon, Meyler, McClean, Gardner (Lynch, 60), Vaughan (Reed, 60), Cook, Ryan Noble.

Re: Goal machine Noble

SEB to fuck like. But your right!! get the lad in.

Re: Goal machine Noble

The sooner we get a merit system in place the better off we'll be. The lad deserves his shot, and McLean can't be far away either.
