Re: Goal machine Noble

Have to agree like.

He could be our own Micky Owen. He was built like a 5 year old too but could put the ball away. Nobody complained that he was too lightweight and was a waste of space having wingers knocking balls into the box.

Give him a chance. Can't be any worse than having Sess upfront and totally blunting his game to boot.

Bentdner also needs a striker to play off and create chances for. He isn't, and never has been, a scoring sensation like some of our fans think.

Re: Goal machine Noble

I don't think he'll start. I think Gardner and Vaughan will though

Re: Goal machine Noble

Merit system??????????????????

Do well in the reserves, get your shot in the first team. Nobody's place safe, no favourites. Everyone under pressure to perform week in week out.

Re: Goal machine Noble

Thats the case anyway isn't it?

Not towards the end under Bruce tbh. It's why we had Catts and Colback when it wasn't working and Rico shoehorned in anywhere.

It should be the case, but rarely is.

Re: Goal machine Noble

Thats a hell of a record mind.

Ji and Bendtner are not out and out goalscorers. They both drop deep to bring other into play. We need a different outlet and I cant see what harm it can do to bring Noble into the fray.

Re: Goal machine Noble

The sooner we get a merit system in place the better off we'll be. The lad deserves his shot, and McLean can't be far away either.

You mean the same McLean that people were telling MON to get rid of just three or four days ago? Surely not.

That embarrassed face isn't for you incidentally, marra.

Since 2009, Noble has started 24 reserve games, he has scored 34 goals.

The kid knows how to score goals and it can only be a matter of time before he gets his chance, he is a natural goalscorer.

This. Plus the lad's confidence must be sky high at the moment. If I were MON I might be tempted to go for broke and get (at least) McClean, Noble and Gardner in from the stiffs for Blackburn.

Re: Goal machine Noble

11 goals in 5 games is some record like. The lad just pisses goals. Makes class little runs behind the backline and his positional sense is brilliant. I'd defo give him a start soon, can do no worse than Ji did at Wolves. Would love to see him score for the 1st team.

This is what stands out for me as well. Tbf i've never seen a him in the reserves but even when he get's 5 minutes off the bench he's constantly looking for space to makes runs into behind the defence. I reckon he would work will with Bendtner personally.

Might as well give the lad a chance though, at the minute we only have Bendtner, Ji and Noble. Ji just doesn't look ready/good enough for me and with Noble banging them in for fun in the reserves surely deserves a chance?

Re: Goal machine Noble

We're crying out for someone that can get in behind defences and think this lad would compliment Bendtner or Ji much better than they do each other.

Let's just hope MON can see it

Re: Goal machine Noble

should start... age is irrelevant

And build.

People on here bang on all the time about how the English game only allows big lads to shine and academies don't give the smaller lads a chance because of their build and then say the same shite when people mention Noble.

"not big enough"
"too lightweight"
"needs to put on some size like"
"blah blah"

Keep saying it. Michael Owen looked about 12 and Modric looks about 8. Both fantastic players. There are many many out there in the same boat. Ability is what we should look for, not what they look like..

[SAFC] I'll keep my head down - Noble

Ryan Noble dodged the hype and insisted he'll continue working on his game after scoring four times for the reserves against Manchester United.
