What part is Israel playing at the moment? Noticed a Polish government plane over Romania on the way back from Tel Aviv.
They have probably the best relations with both so are trying to broker agreement I think

I condemn anyone who is involved on NATO's side in egging this on, when it was likely avoidable. I condemn Putin for invading. I would prefer a negotiated settlement, with Russia pulling out. I do not think it's possible for Russia to 'win' in any real sense. If I was in the Russian hierarchy, I would consider getting rid of Putin. What I can't stand though, is the hipocrisy being shown, as if the likes of UK / US have some moral high ground, have never invaded a sovereign country and never killed masses of civilians.
You mean Syrian army?Mercenaries from the middle East joining the fight now
I’m dreading / curious to see what Death to 2022 is like (death to 2021 was bad enough with all that happened)This is the first war to be played out on social media and I just think all of this wrong. Our "world" is fucked, Brooker style fucked.
The Joint STARS doing laps over Poland now makes sense.
Gather evidence of what is on the ground to be able to challenge the attack being Ukrainian origin.
Brilliant. Gan on lass.Yelena Osipova's back yet again as she was one of those arrested in early days as seen in last tweet
The NATO thing is a red herring used by Russia, one of the requirements to join NATO is that the country can't currently be at war. Since 2014, Ukraine have been at war with....Russia!The invasion was not “egged on” by NATO - not sure what you think they did. So what if Ukraine was considering joining NATO. Russia may not have liked it but hey, Ukraine were free to do what they liked and that is no excuse for an invasion and the atrocities being committed.
I don’t recall the US/UK invading a sovereign (watch your keyboard doesn’t wear out) country which was democratic and not posing any threat to anyone.
It was right to stop Saddam gassing the Kurds and killing his own people. It was right to try and remove the Taliban. It was right to try and stop ethnic cleansing in the Balkans. They are not comparable to the invasion of Ukraine.
More comparable is saying that what Russia has done would be akin to the UK invading Ireland due to a “timeline” and the IRA and destroying Irish cities.
I'd expect the folks behind "our special broadcast" from St. Petersburg to be getting a knock on the door shortly.Yelena Osipova's back yet again as she was one of those arrested in early days as seen in last tweet
You say whataboutery. I find that term puerile. If you're up in arms at civilians being killed in Ukraine, then you should be up in arms about them being killed elsewhere. It wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest Russia don't actually expect Ukraine to join NATO and are just using it as an excuse. Russia, like @Roker Skate , have flip flopped between about 10 different reasons for invading.
Ahhhhhh, good old whataboutery.
Alternatively, if you're not up in arms about them being killed in Ukraine, you shouldn't care about them being killed elsewhere. That seems more consistent with the Russian attitude. You say whataboutery. I find that term puerile. If you're up in arms at civilians being killed in Ukraine, then you should be up in arms about them being killed elsewhere.
But that's what it is, whataboutery. If you ran a quick poll, I reckon the vast majority of people on here wouldn't be happy with the civilian deaths in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and numerous other places, that doesn't mean we can't be pissed off about Putin indiscriminately killing people. Many of us won't have been happy about the actions of the UK and US over the years but, again, that doesn't somehow diminish the scale of the current issue in Ukraine. You say whataboutery. I find that term puerile. If you're up in arms at civilians being killed in Ukraine, then you should be up in arms about them being killed elsewhere.
Why are you not up in arms about women and children being killed in Ukraine, which you can't be or you wouldn't use deflections to diminish those who are?You say whataboutery. I find that term puerile. If you're up in arms at civilians being killed in Ukraine, then you should be up in arms about them being killed elsewhere.
My keyboard is fine (watch your own arrogance doesn't explode). The invasion was not “egged on” by NATO - not sure what you think they did. So what if Ukraine was considering joining NATO. Given you've just supported civilians being killed in the 'war against terror' I'm not sure you're best placed to ask that question. Why are you not up in arms about women and children being killed in Ukraine, which you can't be or you wouldn't use deflections.
Why would a country with a depleted air force go use its limited resources to attack Belarus instead of the invading Russians is off the scale in terms of absurdness. I would like to think this could somehow get through to the Belarussians and initiate an uprising there. The Joint STARS doing laps over Poland now makes sense.

May I ask it instead?Given you've just supported civilians being killed in the 'war against terror' I'm not sure you're best placed to ask that question.
When did I do that?Given you've just supported civilians being killed in the 'war against terror' I'm not sure you're best placed to ask that question.
