Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Unfortunately it is not up to Russia if Ukraine decided to join NATO or not. It also would have made no difference or posed no Russia.
I don’t think Ukraine will join nato however I never feel they will want no armed forces and to be able to fend for themselves it’s mad to think Russia expects that.

Regardless of what you think the timeline may be, it doesn’t justify invading an independent country and doing what the Russians are doing.

Coming up with different timelines and theories is just trying to distract from what is happening on the ground.

A simple question for you: do you condemn Putin, support Ukraine and want the invasion defeated?
I condemn anyone who is involved on NATO's side in egging this on, when it was likely avoidable. I condemn Putin for invading. I would prefer a negotiated settlement, with Russia pulling out. I do not think it's possible for Russia to 'win' in any real sense. If I was in the Russian hierarchy, I would consider getting rid of Putin. What I can't stand though, is the hipocrisy being shown, as if the likes of UK / US have some moral high ground, have never invaded a sovereign country and never killed masses of civilians.

This is perhaps the most sensible thing you've said so far. As I've said before, there's a reason Biden in particular has been letting other countries do much of the talking. It's also part of why Johnson pretending to be a leader on this is silly.

Why would I need to make my mind up? I'm not involved. There is no analysis of the situation that lead to this in our media It's all just one-sided. If you're happy for that, then that's up to you. Berating people who prefer more balanced analysis of the issues is also your choice.
Balanced.

How are Russia going to suppress an Insurgency? They aren't going to be able to. What's the end game for Ukraine?

Assuming the twats win.

There's zero chance they can control 40m+ people who'll absolutely hate them for what they've already done and likely to do in the coming weeks.

persistently posting Russian claims that you admit you can’t prove is not the actions of someone who has an open mind
Well it is, actually. Russian claims aren't rubbish just because they're Russian. If we go down that route, where does it lead? I can't prove Ukrainian claims either. What is being used as a burden of proof?

That's your opinion regarding sensible. All I see on here is a load of pitchforks aimed at Russia / Russians / Putin / The Kremlin / anything Russian.

Indeed. There will be 44m very angry people that they have to deal with. No chance. They haven't thought this through.

It wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest Russia don't actually expect Ukraine to join NATO and are just using it as an excuse. Russia, like @Roker Skate , have flip flopped between about 10 different reasons for invading.
