Odesa a Russian speaking city as well but so was Mariupol and look what they did to that.

I remember a Syrian advising the Ukrainians after the Russians bombed the Mariupol theatre killing hundreds of women and kids. Even though Ukraine had informed Russia that the place was full of kids they hit it anyway. The Syrian guy said "Never tell the Russians where your kids are as they will target them first".

Shit like this is horrific but will help Ukraine. It will only stiffen the resolve of the Ukrainians and stiffen the resolve of those countries supplying weapons to Ukraine so she can defend herself and beat the invaders back.
 

Cargo ship with grain from occupied Berdyansk now identified​


"After many months of idleness port renewed its’ work, first merchant ship has left Berdyansk commercial port with 7,000 tonnes of grain, destined for friendly countries," said Evgeny Balitsky, the head of the pro-Russia administration of Berdyansk, occupied by Russia town and port. Ship wasn’t identified, port of destination wasn’t revealed. According to Ukrainian sources, confirmed by AIS data, ship can be identified as Russia-flagged, Kazakhstan owned general cargo ship ZHIBEK ZHOLY. If that’s the case, ZHIBEK ZHOLY left Berdyansk on Jun 29, reached Kerch Strait Azov sea anchorage same day, left anchorage several hours later and as of morning Jun 30 was sailing in Black sea, port of destination Karasu Turkey, ETA Jul 1.

We were definitely caught out a bit earlier in the year imo, but am now fairly sure that if Putin made a move like that again the response would be swift and massive.

Begs the question of what international presence in international waters there is in the region, any NATO vessels there?

There are very few NATO vessels in and around the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus although it is the international passage that connect the Mediterranean to the Black Sea.
in the Med sea the area is littered with NATO shipping especially lurking of the likes of Cyprus/Malta and Greece.
No so many in the Black sea as but there is a presence there, UK vessels included.
The Turks are shitting themselves now as we know they are best mates with our man in CCCP but have to be buddies with the Home Guard
there are many oil tankers a day all loaded refined products from Black sea Russian ports that are exiting daily via the Dardanelles heading down through the Suez onto the the likes of India.
