Rushy Defends the Blast

Interesting responses but not surprising. No one wants it apart from the odd one here and there (one or two on here even). Mind you I got to a point last night where I thought I might welcome the death of the Blast and no longer have to watch Yorkshire embarrass themselves in the most watched and high profile county comp

Was at the match last night and the attendance seemed far bigger than the Northants game which was about 6,000. To me last night was more around 8,000. It was a right pain in the arse TBF. Loads of people came in late and then wandered around wanting beer, chips, burgers etc. Kept disturbing the miserable old buggers like me. Long may it continue!

There was definitely far more in the Co Durham stand on Friday night than Northants that's for sure.If the attendances keep increasing DCCC may be forced to open the Trapdoor Stand for the Yorkshire game!!

I don't know why they don't do what really needs to be done and scrap county cricket and have 10 regional teams that cover all the country.
Everyone knows 18 teams is far to many.

Yip far to many and everyone knows it. People are just thinking about there own self interest and not what's best for the game.
It will not happen that easily but I been saying on here for years that regional cricket will come but I do not agree with the 💯 it's crap but will probably work as it's on terrestrial TV.

You on a wind up?
No l have been going on about in here for years. It's the only way the North East has any kind of a future.
If this new competition works then it's well down the road to the end of county cricket but the problem is even more of the country will be excluded than it is in the unfair system if county cricket.
