Running Thread 2019

Life has got in the way a little the last two weeks, i've managed to do most of my training schedule but the majority on treadmills while i've been travelling...I did 12 miles on a treadmill on sunday 😴. Probably 6 miles tomorrow, and then back to roads from the weekend.

I have found them useful for setting the tempo and duration for intervals etc. but that's the only good thing I can say about them 😄

Mate there’s something to be said for your mental strength that you managed 12 miles on a mill, 5k is my top end and that kills me!

I am OK with the mental side of things it's the running capacity I struggle with 😆.

I managed to change schedule around today and got out for a "night run" at 10pm for an hour, back on the streets and paths from now hopefully!

This escalated a bit. In hindsight the signs were there for a while but I’ve had two stents fitted this morning.
Cardiologist wasn’t concerned at first but a few months on and various tests and scans showed two blocked arteries.
Feel champion now and was awake during whole thing.
Put on two clem since it happened so need to get back on the road.😂
Will speak to specialist tomorrow but think I should be able to do a couch to 5k.
Has anybody got experience of getting back to fitness/running after stents? Consultants just gave vague 'listen to your body' type advice.
As I've done nothing more strenuous than a walk since March, thinking of easing myself in with some gentle cardio at the gym then going for a run when I feel ready. Got a week away and Christmas coming up so lots of excuses not to go out once I've started but if I start at the gym in the next week or so, I should be ready to run by Christmas I think.

No idea, but the strollers beginners starts in January. I know you're a reet miserable fucker, but running with people helps imo.

10 mile pb today, felt awful, think it's caused by the medication I'm on. 64:53 On the watch.

That's a pb in every distance this year, bar a 10km. I ran 38:41 and my pb is 38:40.
Very similar to me although not as quick as you.

PB’s for me

5K - 19:37
10K - 39:55
HM - 1:32

Very pleased with this year. Aiming for a sub 1:30 HM and to finish a marathon next year. Unsure of a target time for that yet.
