Remember when he lost the blob cos fans were starting on him during the game against a pub team that we eventually won on pennas

Just an opinion but I don't think he personality lends itself well to management in the modern day.
That's probably why he has only been an assistant for the last 7 years.

He would make a better international manager than club manager, where you just have to make an impact over a short space of time rather than work with the players on a daily basis.

Unfortunately we have the puppet Coleman in charge.. who will walk in he next few games.. Ellis likes puppets.. and as long as he is in charge we will never see a manager with any balls..

Was pretty vocal about short fookin off to America and not giving a shìt mind.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat and I hate the bastard.

Hope this Quinn story is true, if it is has there ever been an imdividual as legendary for a single club than SNQ for us? Saving us from oblivion twice? He makes other clubs legends look like part timers.

If 'it's a different world now' means that footballers are now namby pamby soft fucks that have to be led by the hand instead of by the boot up the arse, then you're probably right.
Yes that's pretty much what I mean.
Back in the good old days players needed to play, the threat of being benched was a serious threat. Now they are happy to sit on the bench making 5 million a year and knowing they are more valuable to the club than the manager as they are a multi million pound asset.
Keane says what he thinks, there is no filter between his mind and his mouth, while that's often said to be a good think the reality is it's not. Sometimes while you may think one thing, you really need not to say it.

Keane always felt like he was 1 goal away from a mental breakdown. I wasn't surprised when he walked.

Dinnar whether I'd want him back. Did ok for us at the time (with money to spend).

I remember that game very very well. Northampton wasn’t it?

We'll never know what the outcome would be had he not clashed swords with Short. I like Keane, I like his straight talking no nonsense approach, I can relate to that. Keane learnt a lot from Cloughie and I believe he tried emulate the great man but like you say it's a totally different game now. Cloughie wasnt affraid to give a player a clip around the lugs, players wouldn't stand for that nowadays. I would have liked Keane to have stayed a season or two longer just to see if he could have built on that great first season. Leaving the way he did must have knocked him back, he believed he was doing ok but accepts he hit a bad patch of results, all managers do and he also felt Short was being unreasonable asking him to move his family up to the area with only months of his contract to run. Short could have solved any issue by extending his contract so making it worthwhile Keane moving up but he didn't. Under a different owner things might have turned out differently.
