after nearly 47 years I’ve joined a gym and have been drawn to the RM
Anyone know any good routines?
I need a plan or routine to keep me motivated!
Also, is it meant to fuckin knack your arse?
The best I have done is about 7mins 45s they used to have a competition in the Nottingham ymca gym and the best times were about 7:15.Anyone like a challenge on the concept machines try to get under 7 mins for a 2 k row
It’s a full on sprint my best was 6-45 but trained for that done few years back it’s a killer

That’s a very good 2k time. The only PB of mine I remember is a 1.24 for 500mTried it the other day got a 7 min 1 second was gutted not to beat the 7 min but could hardly stand up after haha
Big respect for rowers got to be so fit to compete

Cheers for providing the link there mate. Computer numpty so couldn’t figure that out! Depending on my own levels of energy, fatigue or just general interest i vary between shark wrestling a seal to a drunken whale trying to shag oneTechnique from concept website.
When I do it there’s just a blur of sweat, arms and legs like a shark wrestling with a seal.
Technique Videos
I just try to bend my knees only after my hands have gone past them. I’ll check what I’m doing on the rower later this week.Cheers for providing the link there mate. That’s pretty much the basics as I was coached. Drive with the legs, don’t pull til hands past the knees. Then on the return, hands past the knees before bending the legs. Oh, and keep the elbows tucked. Used to get shouts of “chicken wings!!” from my mate when he was coaching my technique . Funnily enough my 500m split times dropped for a month or two after I’d improved the technique. Soon returned though. Seems that initially I could row quick, just very badly!I just try to bend my knees only after my hands have gone past them. I’ll check what I’m doing on the rower later this week.

Yer, its what I have. Saw one on Facebook for sale for £300 yesterdayHas anyone got a Concept 2 at home? Tempted to get one but don't want to spend £900 on (another) clothes-horse. A bit tight for space as well. Suppose a could just do one at the gym (don't use the gym atm although it's on me membership.)
