Struggling to think of a pub where I wouldn't go in but have to say have passed The Tram Car Inn at southwick green a few times , never been in , and often thought it would be like that pub on trainspotting where any non local venturing in would get turned over

The Tram Car is fine.

Dont think there are that many really rough pubs left.
Thirty years ago there were many that were less than salubrious in the town and in all the big estates.
I cannot think of any that you would need to be scared to go in these days.

Id agree about this place being rough, not a place a stranger could go in and have a quiet pint.
