Rotherham

After watching Rotherham against Sheffield Wednesday. Rotherham are everything we aren’t… bigger, stronger, faster, more physical, braver and definitely more suited to get out of this league.
This is the template/ tactics/ style of play required to get promoted.
Admittedly not pretty but very effective at this level. We will remain in League One until the philosophy changes for the short term.
Playing out from the back is for the likes of Man City etc, our personnel are just not up to it.
We do that at MK and we're doing alright... whether it will get us promoted or not remains to be seen but it's a distinct possibility at this point.

The second part of that line is the key though, you need the right personnel. It's taken us 5 transfer windows and 2 managers all overseen by a competent sporting director for us to get to where we are now.

Do you ever just wish your owner had stolen Brighton & Hove Albion instead of Wimbledon ?. You’d be an established premier league club now.

Main difference isn't "Style of play"...
Its simply Rotherham don't f.ook up, like Sunderland and Wednesday do..Its attitude, not "Style"
Rotherham can mix it up, they can play football, they can also do the nitty gritty stuff, because their players have the attitude.
Sundays match, I'll give Rotherham the credit, although i thought Wednesday edged it in overall play
Didn't bother Rotherham, cos their players had the attitude of taking the chances as they came..nowt direct about it, simple bloody application.

If we're here again next season, I think we'll be looking very closely at their recruitment and tactics with the aim of replicating it. They've shown that promotion from this division can be achieved on a modest budget. Tony Stewart and Paul Warne have done a fabulous job there.
If we hadn’t been such soft touches away from home we would be right up there. Our away record is so bad and the nature of conceding goals is alarming.

Physical attributes are underrated on this forum. People scoff when you say we need more height, strength and pace in the team but at this level it's hugely important.

Can't remember the last time we scored a late winner, goes to show we have no bottle about us. Should be busting a gut to get all 3 points, if it means we get countered and end up losing, so be it. If rather we risk it for 3 points that 1 point
