yea well...thats actually a style of football isn't it....
you know..the thing yer not bothered about?
Ruined the start of our season, insisting on the keeper rolling it out to a centre half, who either played a syuicidal ball into midfield or simply lost his composure...You need the players to to do itA style of football, is passing or route one.
You can play the way you’ve highlighted in different styles of football. I don’t care which style we play as long as it’s got the highlighted part to it. Passing for the sake of it looks good, but it’s boring shïte in my opinion, I don’t mind passing the the stitching of the ball as long as it results in plenty of shots at goal and forward attacking play. This passing about at the back shïte is bollox in my opinion.

how are villa breaking the rules? they have only spent the 100 million they got from selling a playerI agree mate...makes no difference to who you support though, you see Wolves, Villa etc get away with it and obviously the folk in charge think its worth the punt.
Sod all you can do as a fan, bar stand for it
like I said
Yea Barnsley, Rotherham ..fair play...you go down, you come back up....you sound quite satisfied with that and I'm happy for you
I happen not to be...call me deluded..No doubt you will, but thats the remit of any football supporter
You seem to be grounded in the security of mainly playin' with a yo yo..I prefer delusion....
They sent over 90 million in their first season in the championship, that can’t be within ffp surely.how are villa breaking the rules? they have only spent the 100 million they got from selling a player
They’ll piss promotionRotherham arent up yet by the way. Not by a long chalk.
And sold the ground as we dud..and we got points deducted that relegated us...fine margins mate ,and I haven't got a problem with it..just want a level playing fieldhow are villa breaking the rules? they have only spent the 100 million they got from selling a player
I’d like an inbetween style of football. I think yours is very simplistic but it works and gets goals in this division but fair play to you. This boards split between us building for the future and getting up a division - most would obviously prefer both. We haven’t got the second bit right that’s for certain. The Millers get labelled with the direct football tag. I dont know if it's fair. If you have a look at the goals we have scored this season - and by the way we have scored more of them than any other side in the division - you will see plenty of good football in there. If what people mean is that we dont fanny around with the ball at the back trying to play like Barca in League One then it's a fair point. In fact we love it when other sides do that because we press them high and expose them. What we do get under Warne, whether it's at the top end of League One or the bottom end of the Championship (in which we are massively out of our depth financially) is a team that knows what it is trying to do and gives 100% every week. I'll take that. Oh, and we dont risk killing the club by spending more than we can afford which is good. We've done the administration thing before and dont need it again.
As for Sunderland, in theory you've got the spending power to land players good enough to get you out of this division. Good players who are motivated and well organised should get the job done. From what I've seen this season you havent got the balance right between nice flowing football and doing the ugly stuff, and at times you have shown a soft underbelly. I think Neil will sort that out. Whether he can do that with the personnel he has inherited or whether he will need the summer to sort it I'm not sure. I do think he will get there though.
Watched the game and said exactly the same. After watching Rotherham against Sheffield Wednesday. Rotherham are everything we aren’t… bigger, stronger, faster, more physical, braver and definitely more suited to get out of this league.
This is the template/ tactics/ style of play required to get promoted.
Admittedly not pretty but very effective at this level. We will remain in League One until the philosophy changes for the short term.
Playing out from the back is for the likes of Man City etc, our personnel are just not up to it.
We’ve got to be able to mix it up. Rotherham will go up because of physicality and outstanding team organisation. Fair play - effective but limiting as you say agains better sides. We need to aspire to be a better side. I do think we need to mix things up though. Our back four are often out pressed and it’s no use is having possession only in our own half then losing it to a counter. Rotherham are the polar opposite.I think it’s a lazy myth you need to be a big, physical and direct team to get of this league.
The issue with going this route is it’s short term. Most big and direct teams struggle in the Championship as there’s some decent teams. Wycombe and Rotherham are both physical teams, both yo-yo between L1 and the Championship.
There’s plenty of teams that have gone up playing decent stuff. I think we have to stick to our high press/attacking style. It’s the execution of our plan that lets us down, and we need to be more streetwise.
Does Speakman decide what style of football we play or does he bring in the players to suit the style that the owners want.Yep you are exactly right, it’s no surprise they score loads from set pieces when you look at the size of their players. This bullshit playing out from the back that the clown Speakman insists on will never work in this division.
He hasn't a clueDoes Speakman decide what style of football we play or does he bring in the players to suit the style that the owners want.
You could say exactly the same about Wigan who, as an added advantage, never seem to know when they are beatenAfter watching Rotherham against Sheffield Wednesday.
