Ross Stewart

I thought Speakman pushed his return back to October at least?

He said in what I think was his most recent interview that he wouldn't be fit for the start of pre-season, more likely the middle or towards the end.

I've not heard him say much else so I'm not sure.

Seeing a mood change toward Stewart

On twitter starting to see people suggesting we sell him if he won't sign a new deal.

It's exactly the intention of leaking stories like this.

Next will be the famous "he handed in a transfer request", "wanted to leave", "can't keep an unhappy player".

It's strategy 101 when selling a popular player.

If we can get 6-7m then we'd sell and probably rightly so. It's big money at this level when it'll be £0 in 12 months.

If its only a couple of million then I'd keep him.

I don't agree. Who is the arbiter of 'big money'? It depends on lots of variables and not just one picked out of the air randomly. They might include all of the following but not exclusively talent, age, potential, position, contractual situation, salary, injury record, technical performance data, international experience, image, the financial strength of the selling club, the level of their current league.

Who has leaked stories, it's just seems like media speculation, with no quotes from anyone

Leaking stories like this?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Stewart is
(a) coming back from a serious injury - no one yet knows whether or not he can fully recover
(b) still not signing a contract.

Speakman seems chilled about the current situation, and he is the one fully conversant with precise medical reports and contract discussions, so I will happily leave it to him to drive the process to whatever conclusion seems best for the club. If LND stays, great, if not, well it will be a blow but one with a reasonable hope of recovery.

This is total and Utter nonsense likr

He’s paid peanuts, he’s on virtually the same wage he was when he was signed from ross county in the third division

He’s 26 going on 27 and earned virtually no money from football.

Loyalty? How’s he been disloyal. Good example of how sensitive football fans are
The bloke is recovering from a career threatening injury. He could very well break down as soon as he steps onto the grass. Plenty of clubs would have said fuck that and took the contract off the table. But hey-ho, maybe's its just me who thought something like that would have a bearing on Stewart's decision.

As for being sensitive. Too f***ing right i am when it comes to this club. Maybes it's because of who it is. If it was some bit part player i might not be as bothered by it.

I don’t want him to go but I’m sure we’ll move on and be fine without him.

Luton is a shocking move for him in footballing terms but if he wants a bit coin then crack on if we can’t/won’t match it.
Well, they got a load more points than us in the league, two play-offs in a row and beat us in them pretty easily in the end.
