Ross Stewart

Given the prognosis on his recovery you would have to say it looks highly unlikely. He's a massive asset for us, worth at least as much as Clarke. Burnley have supposedly bid £10M for Clarke turned down.

it's very unlikely anyone is going to bid that sort of money for someone still coming back from a long term injury.

The only way I could see him being sold is if he gets back training a little earlier. Plays in the last pre-season game for around an hour and we decide he can start against Ipswich.

Then he would need to hit the ground running and score about 5 goals in August. Then and only then maybe someone from the premier league would maybe take a punt on a £10M plus last minute bid.

However, we still aren't under any obligation to sell him. It's all very well saying get the cash when it's there but if costs us promotion it's over a £100M down the drain.
Cant disagree with any of that.

No, not at all.

Speakman said he wouldn't be fit for early pre-season (it starts tomorrow) but maybe fit the middle to the back end of pre-season.

He then went on to say there was a doubt he'd be ready to start the season.

IMO that means he'll be training alone until they decide he's fit enough to join in with the team in full training. It's still 7 weeks until the start of the season. If he's training fully in say 4 weeks time he would have a chance on being on the bench for the first game as he'd probably have played some minutes in a friendly or 2.
He be lucky to make America IMO.

Some don’t realise the seriousness of his injury and the recovery that goes with it.

These rumours of 7 figure bids are pure fantasy, no one looking seriously at RS in his current state. He’s 27 not 17.

27 is the absolute prime of his career. Realistically he'll have at least 5 years at his peak. He didn't snap his achilles, it was a 30% tear / rupture which is far better.

Harry Kane is 30 next month, has his price gone down?

It's all about his worth for us which is huge. If someone wants him they pay top dollar IMO. Our billionaire owner can choose to let his contract wind down. Will he, no idea?

Mate I rate your opinions but please don’t come at me with a comparison between Harry Kane and Ross Stewart.

I’m right in what I’m saying, regardless of your agenda.

Some of which I agree, some of which I don’t.

How long has Ross Stewart been out for

You come across as a right little bellend with that patter

You're allowed to have a different opinion to someone without it being an "agenda"

Have you spoken to a regular human being before who isn't a conspiracy theorist

Would like to think so yes.

I know people post stuff on here that’s bollocks etc. but heard of a genuine bloke today whose son was a keeper at SAFC and ended up at Man Utd via Newcastle that Ross will not be fit until October at best.

We need to invest in a proven striker who can start the season all guns blazing. Should be obvious.

Paul Woolston?

Not sure how he'd know about Stewart mind tbf

Agenda? 😂

It's their ages I'm comparing not their ability. The fact remains Kane is still being touted as a £100M player at 30. Why? Because he's in high demand as are all goal scorers.

Stewart's age is perfect for a striker.
If someone wants him they can get him for free next summer. If we want to make money it’ll only be a few million
A team might be relegated by next summer. As I said supply and demand. If enough teams are interested the price goes up. Or we don't sell and take the hit. Our choice.

This isn't the first time October has been mentioned. However, if it was factual Speakman wouldn't have been so vague in what he said IMO.

He said he was a doubt to start the season. August 6th and October, slight difference!

Ross Stewart has been out since the Fulham cup game been about 5 months since he last kicked a ball. Speakman saying he be back at the backend of preseason so I can’t see him been fully match fit For start of season.can see him coming on as sub in games for 10/ 15 minutes until fully fit that will take 4 / 5 games to get fully fit by that time summer transfer window will be closed.can’t see him being sold until January or he ✍️ new deal

Personally I now think he won’t sign a new deal before the end of the season, and will either a) leave on a free in the summer if we stay down, or b) sign a new contract in the summer if we go up. That’s just my personal view based on nothing concrete.

Steve isn’t the type to talk bollocks so likely true

If Luton are interested and want to test our resolve, they should put their money on the table. I'm sure there is a deal to be done if they are sensible.

No point pissing about suggesting wages but never actually offering a fee like Stoke.
