We can’t compete with Southampton on wagesSpeaks volumes when Stoke and Southampton are more attractive options for our star player and former manager
Southampton are selling players for £50m and have parachute payments. Hardly a surprise they're more attractive.Speaks volumes when Stoke and Southampton are more attractive options for our star player and former manager
Yep seems like they are greedy bastards. I would prefer it if we didn’t have another period in league 1 and on the brink of financial ruin.Speaks volumes when Stoke and Southampton are more attractive options for our star player and former manager

Because there are stories everyday of him and the club not able to agree a new contract over the last 12 months and whispers that he’s off to Southampton or stoke for about the same period
it’s like a klaxon and if you can’t hear it, nothing I can do about that
Low volume.Well our manager left for Stoke
IF these reports turn out to be true then our star player will be leaving us to join him or a team thats just been relegated.
I agree to be honest - if we got Hemir for 1m imagine what we could spend 7m on...If the £7m is true i'd carry him down there on my back. Bloke obviously doesnt want to be here. Thanks for the goals Ross but nobody fully invested in the cause of the club isnt welcome.
Low volume.

Hemir was a free wasn't he? Happy to be corrected of course but I thought he was out of contract at Benfica.I agree to be honest - if we got Hemir for 1m imagine what we could spend 7m on...
Trust the recruitment team, also its the first time we've bought a player and turned him for a profit in God knows how long
Oh, may be wrong, I remember reading "undisclosed" and then seeing 1m being banded about - I'm fairly certain we paid a fee of some sortHemir was a free wasn't he? Happy to be corrected of course but I thought he was out of contract at Benfica.
You've said nowt man... speaks volumes insinuates a negative situation, and then just stated a fact and a possibility when asked to spell out what the issue is.Nothing to do with sound
Either way it seems to be a good investment so far.Oh, may be wrong, I remember reading "undisclosed" and then seeing 1m being banded about - I'm fairly certain we paid a fee of some sort
Take Southampton out of the equation though. Stoke have been in this race a while and it won’t go away, there’s 100% no smoke without fire. If they are willing to offer him 25-30k, if it comes down to a simple decision of “look give me 25k and I’ll stay on” and we choose to not do that, because it breaks our philosophy I don’t agree with it. Some might, I don’t, ya take a risk on a good striker.
Ultimately people were saying simms was never worth 7m, and Stewart is soooo much better. If that’s the case how much are we going to have to pay for a replacement at Stewart’s level. 14m? Also consider the wage here, how much is any player costing north of 5m going to want to be paid, especially a striker. I would bet Simms won’t have accepted less than 20k a week.
If it’s simply down to 5-10k a week, and we are choosing not to do it, it seems absolutely mad to me.
Give up man, stinks of gravy tbh, and if it’s not then u need some serious help if u think sunderland afc, at this moment in time, are a bigger draw than Southampton for any player. We’re still adjusting to life after that shite period in league one ffs. So it doesn’t speak volumes at all, it makes perfect sense to probably most professional footballers.Well our manager left for Stoke

We arent in League 1
Not sure I can 100% agree with that. Injuries have changed the dynamics of talks. Speakman says he wants to sign, both are trying to get the best deal possible. I’d imagine if he was fit right now the subject might have moved on quicker. As it is, it’s not as simple as yes or no. All parties have been given an enforced amount of time to analyse things. As have other teams. It appears he’s being tapped up by the likes of Stoke and Southampton
get him out the door, and let them sort his injury out and get someone who wants to play for safc in
he obviously doesn’t want to do that anymore, so get him out the door
I’ll stand by my post.Well our manager left for Stoke
