Ross Stewart

If Ross Stewart never got injured he would have scored 20+ goals this season. Them striker are hard to find & are expensive to buy
They’re also players that don’t stay at championship level. People getting all bent out of shape about Stewart leaving haven’t been paying attention. He’s a pl player and this is the only season he’ll spend at champ level. Of course it’s gonna be about what we get and how we reinvest but this is what happens when you have good players. It’s just uncomfortable for Sunderland fans as we’ve rarely had any players who warrant going further up the pyramid.

Sunderland want to develop and become an established pl club again. In doing that I’d far rather have players who develop faster than safc than players who develop slower. But at the end of the day, we are always going to have our better players picked off if they’re good enough.

I'm not convinced. He's only played about 6 championship games in his career. If he does it for the next 6 months, different ball park figures.

Stewart will be off. He's 26 now, was rumoured to be on a couple of grand a week last season. He won't even be a millionaire.

This next contract is huge for him. Will dictate his entire life tbh.
Its fair enough from me. I would be gutted if he goes but if he doesnt want to sign then let him go

Hes been superb and deserves a chance in the prem imo. Its our model, im confident we will spend the money wisely

The only clubs I have seen is rangers Everton
Why would he want to go back up Scotland & play in that 2 Bob league

Just journalists saying that top clubs are in for him, which he could earn 20k+ a week. Probably his agent putting feelers out too
He not worth 20k a week in the championship

And it's probably the figure he's looking for, if he signs a new deal it will for around that much

The money we get from staying in the championship for another season (never mind getting promoted) by extending his contract (since he looks one of the best strikers in this league) would probably cover the money we'd get from selling Stewert in the summer and give us 18 months to get a replacement in.

Get promoted next season and wheres the issue for either party!

Why don't the owners bust a gut to try & keep him. We could very realistically make the play offs this season if we keep him, or go up next season, where they would make a fortune In the Premier league.
I think he's worth holding onto instead of any short term gain.

AN probably preparing a double figure bid in Jan I reckon, then theres Blackburn who could pay that sum and cover it with promotion
