Ross Stewart

I think we'll be disappointed with the fee too mate. I'm clearly in a very positive mood this morning
I don't think the club want him to stay personally.

I think they just want to drive his price up and sell to reinvest the money into the squad

Agree on the first bit of that second sentence, jury very much out on the second bit.

They've been briefing about how much money they've put in to cover the losses, something like this provides a way to get a lot of that back out, especially for the smallest member of the ownership group. We've been here before with the parachute payments. Be very interested to see what actually gets reinvested.

both will be true. its the only thing that makes sense. Try to keep him by offering all we reasonably can. But make sure we maximise price if we cant afford to keep him. There are no reds under the beds. Were just being smart

I'll stay positive until I see otherwise I think. I genuinely believe the club is far more astute about recruitment and how to progress these days.

Building a side that could go up will return them far more in the long run than a couple of million each of his sale.

Haven't seen any evidence of KLD being another madrox tbh.

This 'model' will infuriate our fans in the long run.

I don’t mind it in theory, but being cheap when we have the cream of the crop is what will do my head in.

I despise Neil for the way he left us, but at the same time, we should be willing to bend the rules a bit when you have someone so loved by the fans.

What came out from the board when he went spoke volumes. It’s exactly the same with Stewart.

I guess we'll find out soon enough either way. Obviously hope you're right and I'm wrong though.

If Ross Stewart never got injured he would have scored 20+ goals this season. Them striker are hard to find & are expensive to buy

Really like the bloke but in that article TM really does make quite a lot of assumptions if he isn’t privy to anything.

In the long run? By selling Rossco more like
I'm assuming the plan will be to do a Brentford after selling Watkins and benrahma for big money. Build a side with the cash that can get promoted.

We won't know whether it will work until it happens. I can genuinely see both sides of this. We have to get it right if we reinvest his fee

Had a dig at the agent. We've seen this replayed many times before. He'll be sold. The key and only pertinent question in reality is.
Will all the money be reinvested in the team. Not to subsidise money we were already going to spend but extra money?

If it's not, the model will not work and fans will very quickly and rightly, become very disgruntled.

I'm hoping for a new contract, with a big release clause. My fear is he will turn it down and we will be forced to sell for about £6-8million in the summer.

I don't blame him. He might only have this one chance of a life changing contract, if he goes for a low fee or even in a free the following year, he will be able to command £25k a week, 4 year contract.
