Should have tied him to a new deal when things were going relatively well earlier in the season. Even if it had a big release clause in, it still gives you that protection. As it stands now we'll be trying to cash in on a player with only on e year left on his deal. We simply never learn.
Greedy Owners wanted save a few pounds or should we say chancers

Except we’ll end up getting 750k for Stewart and paying £5,000,000 for Zak Dingle
He'll apparently be under contract until 2024 so would have to be a five figure sum. Anyway hopefully we get promoted and kick on, glass half full for me.

they spent fuck all and bought safc cast offs..
They have shown way more ambition. I have an inside contact. You are wrong. People on here are still waiting to hear your explanation as to why you claim to support SAFC

''spent fuck all and bought'' :p The ultimate contradictory comment

they are spending 8m of their own this year..least greedy owners in the league. of course they want to save money..everyone does..no club wants to waste money
Bookie’s had Stewart 18/1 beginning of the season to win L1 most goals scored. That should be a clue to all those involved to review the contract. Old saying is you must spend money to make money….Is the club really doing that? Big picture this club needs to be built in the Championship not L!….

his contract certainly needs to be renewed..any evidence they arent trying? stewrat would be stupid at his age to sign one before the season ends..
And if we lose Stewart to a championship club (which is very likely) that will be a shocking indictment on it.
why? clubs lose players to clubs in higher divisions all the time..i mean if asay, rptherham went up, and he went to them, that would be shockoiking, but any vclub plausibly in the top ten in that league next season..would be able to nab stewart easily enough..

way more ambition than what? they signed max power..is that an ambitious signing? bearing in mind safc did the same thing previously?

Would be interested to know how many players have been signed on permanent deals since Donald came through the door who have then gone on to sign a new deal? O'Nien for one.

Sounds familiar, I remember when the club were “trying” to sort Majas contract out, let him go and bought Will Grigg for a ridiculous fee.

Time and time again the club make the same mistake trying to be too tight and costing themselves more in the long run.
