But if it's not something that can't be triggered by one side then it means nothing and surely wouldn't have been mentioned, as it is meaningless. It’s literally the definition of an option bro![]()
If the Sunderland echo told me water was wet I’d need to put my hands in and see for myself. They know nowt about owt manOne year left and club have an option to extend his contract for another 12 months according to today's Sunderland Echo "Roar" podcast

I guess you have to ask yourself what matters most to the board, money in the bank and continuing to run the club on a budget or giving out a big wage rise to the star striker. He wont be going anywhere unless it’s a huge offer.
Surely the club already have seen how this pans out with Maja only a couple of years ago.
But you are saying all they have an option of is offering a new contract, which he is free to reject. Every club has that option for every player, unless they are retiring. So why would it be mentioned ?It means they have an option
thats like saying i have an option agreed to shag gemma arterton tonight..its all agreed as long as she says yes!It means they have an option
He may have been offered a contract!excellent point-im absolutely staggered he hasnt been offered an sigend a deal..he is top scorer in the league and has been for ages...
please remind me who we brought in and how much we spent on themhe has two years left...many champo clubs are skinter than safc..stewart is probably worth £3m in this market,..he is the kind of signing..you could pay £3m and it looks the bargain or the century or pay ot and he flops..there isnt that much evidence to go on..
what they spent in january wasnt bargain basement..
jermain defoe wasnt cheap..please remind me who we brought in and how much we spent on them
whats £2bn got to do with it?Bigegst club outside the prem with a 2BN ''owner'' and we'd take 2.5m and lose our top man, promoted or not.
both bargain basements in my world, and we will continue like this, we will never reinvest the £6 mil or whatever it is in players from the Rossco salejermain defoe wasnt cheap..
neither was matete who cost a high six figure sum..
whats £2bn got to do with it?
yes but your world is a fantasy world..we live in realioty..which is a hugely loss making third divison football club..in the third division a hiigh six figure sum is a a vast expense..both bargain basements in my world, and we will continue like this, we will never reinvest the £6 mil or whatever it is in players from the Rossco sale
Or neither and just get promoted, and find his replacement in the championship if he still wants to go end of next season.I guess you have to ask yourself what matters most to the board, money in the bank and continuing to run the club on a budget or giving out a big wage rise to the star striker.
which club isnt run on a budget?I guess you have to ask yourself what matters most to the board, money in the bank and continuing to run the club on a budget or giving out a big wage rise to the star striker.
which is why i have little faith in the clowns that run this circus, they see us as a third division club hence appointing out of their depth or out of work managers to get us out of this shithole. You wouldn't know about this club as you are new here...yes but your world is a fantasy world..we live in realioty..which is a hugely loss making third divison football club..in the third division a hiigh six figure sum is a a vast expense..
you think we couldnt buy anyone in the summer good enough to replace ross stewart? what about josh maja..he is for sale and coyuld cost about the same? or the lad at cheltenham with 20 league goals in a shit team? or the lad at morecambe with 19 league goals in a shit team?Money is irrelevant, whether it's £2 or £10 mill.... there no one we can buy to replace him. The only logical replacement is a no name, unnoticed, unproven youngster who at best will turn out to be another Phillips, but most probably another Graham..... rinse and repeat.
im not new here..this is the lowest level of football at which alex neil has managed..even if the owners decided we werent a third division team..every one else does..because they arent fantasistswhich is why i have little faith in the clowns that run this circus, they see us as a third division club hence appointing out of their depth or out of work managers to get us out of this shithole.
