Striker
To think when we got him he was behind Wyke. Couldn't get a start. Possibly the best value for money signing since Kevin Phillips.
Wasn't fit tbf bht came into it more as time went on.

Plus promotion uplift but still won't be compatible to strikers higher up the league.
Thats why he'll sign and not risk it over 2 seasons but hes trying to nudge it up a bit first while hes on fire .That could happen tomorra though with no contract. Need to sign a new deal to get a release clause but broken legs aren't going to help the cause.
No idea if he had an uplift, to the best of my knowledge he is on 3k or below. You'll have Clarke, ballard and co on a lot more and top championship strikers on the best part of 10 times that. Its a massive disparity as it stands imo and needs sorting quickly.
I almost always believe that once you signing something you should stick to it, but I think this is a special case. I'm not suggesting we pay the top wage of course but we have to recognise his importance within squad.
Could be entirely wrong and he is happy enough to see out the contract but I wouldn't.

Hes entitled to the reward for his work same as anyone existing contract or not . If hes the best in the championship pay him as such maybe structure it towards goals and win bonuses thoughNo idea if he had an uplift, to the best of my knowledge he is on 3k or below. Needs selling if he isn't interested in extending (not saying he isn't btw).
Fine lineNeeds selling if he isn't interested in extending (not saying he isn't btw).
He could have signed it last week and not risked it though. If you are basing decisons on possible injury there's no benefit to waiting (amd increasing likelyhood of injury).

Players aren’t bothered about becoming legends at clubs anymore, to a man they chase the money. He's got his big move to us with regards to where he's came from. He looks like he enjoys playing for us and hopefully will sign a new deal that suits all.
He could move to a Prem club or high end Championship, but will he get the game time that he wants?
Stay with us and become a legend as he certainly has all the attributes.
I would agree but he shows no signs of being disgruntled, maybe seeing where we are in January is the best course?
On currently form his resale value will probably peak in January then his sustainable asset value will reduce as he runs his contract down.
Jan makes most sense. Fee will most likely decline from then. Will have been almost a year of negotiations as well.
Also of course will give a clearer indication of where we are in the league. Being mid table and almost safe makes a sale a little easier.
Maybe the case, but not every player is like that. Offer him the money and build around him.Players aren’t bothered about becoming legends at clubs anymore, to a man they chase the money.
Nonsense. The vast majority of our fans can see what’s going on and fully understand it. We will sell 2 or 3 of our better players for a decent profit, and any loan players will return to their parent clubs. We will bring in another 5 or 6 young players and a couple of loan players to backfill them. There’s no shock involved.Given our current model. A lot of our fans are in for a shock next summer
Perhaps they started in spring but the transfer window has been a higher priority than a lad with two years left on his deal. How long does it take to agree a contract ffs. Since spring? Seems like somethings going wrong if it’s took that long without a resolution.
