Ross on the Red

I’ve changed my mind after watching it a few times. If anyone should have been sent off, it is their player.

Aye but ref gets one look and what you're saying is on the basis of that same one look you came to the same conclusion. I did too although thought the Walsall player deserved to go too but Power should never have given him the decision to make - he almost deserves the red for that alone.

^ this is it. In the moment I thought Power should go and maybe their lad as well. With the benefit of numerous watch backs, I don’t think Power should have gone, but the ref doesn’t get those views. VAR would have been interesting

So if we appeal can he play Tuesday? Appeal won't have been heard by then and it's a bit harsh not letting him play if it's subsequently rescinded.

Hopefully someone at the club realises before tomorrow that appealing would be a complete waste of time that will likely only make the ban length longer.

I know what you’re saying but the ref was much closer to the incident and if there is a hint of doubt, no red card should be given.

I think the ref gave the red in response to the Walsall players remonstrations, as so often happens in these instances. I’ve rarely seen Sunderland react like that to fouls no matter which players and managers we’ve had. Some teams surround the ref at every opportunity.

I’m disappointed in Ross here and if this is his attitude then it’s not surprising that Power is the way he is. I hope they’re not silly enough to contest the suspension.
What ?? For appealing a red card that should never have been given . Walsall player was only one who should have been carded in that...

Fair play. Yeah the Walsall lad went in with the intent to do power and gets away with nothing. Worth appealing imo

Probably worth appealing just to get our point across and to let them no we aren’t happy with the officiating, which has been a disgrace.

People cant seriously think that werent a red

He was about 5 foot away from the ball ffs

Yes we don’t think it was a red after seeing the replay. I think it’s bizarre that you think it is if you’ve had a chance to rewatch it. You can’t send Power off for that and allow the Walsall player go unpunished.

Red and white specs

Hardly considering I initially called it a red and changed my mind...

What happened when Turner got an extra game added?

It was something odd mate, I believe the club appealed the length of the ban as opposed to the decision itself. Had we appealed the decision then Turner would not have received an additional game’s ban.
