how? we are sigjing someone>?

well he didnt say we were making

he didnmt say he thought we would sign three..he said it could be as manay as three...two bids in..

wyke was injured last season and griifgg was only here for a few months..

the managers should never be the only opinion that matters..because the manager at a well run club doesnt do the negotoating..has absolutely no idea about that stuff..

if you leave everything to the manager you get a moyes like situation where they just bring in their mates..and when they leave you have sto start agan..

'We're talking about strengthening the team with two or three more signings before the window shuts

Can't be arsed to get in to semantics because it's moot but thats what he said.

Ross didn’t actually say a LB was coming in next week!!! And he didn’t say how many were likely to come in either

His words were

“We’re hopeful that at the beginning of next week we may be able to strengthen in the ways we would like, after that it will depend on who goes out”

That could mean a LB coming in but it could also mean more than one player coming in not just one

Yeah...I’m pleased when anything good happens at the club. There’s just not much of it...

Say we sign the best LB in the League, will that stop us from punting the ball aimlessly around the pitch? Or gifting possession at the first sign of pressure? There’s bigger problems than LB at the club. I’m not gonna be drinking the Donald, Methven & Ross juice until I see a real change how SAFC operates.

Everyone knows that but, to be fair, this is a thread specifically about a LB so only reasonable that people comment on that and not about subjects on which there are already loads of threads.

Repeating the other topics on every thread seems a bit manic tbh.

Sounds like his current club want him to play this weekend or he'd be up now for a medical you'd think.

the ppoint is what they are saying are not nescscessaerilty vontraidcotry. JR has said he thinks hwe only need a left back as it stands, SD says one definite, maybe two more, because he is an optimist,..couold it be he is optimistic that we get rid of fringe players (the thing JR is pessimistic about) and so need more than just a left back?
or it could be, SD believes he can get an extra player or two for the money available, whereas JR thinks that money wont be ebough without selling?
Or better yet get them in the same room, then ask the question of can we looking forward to signings.
that would be dull..they both agree we can..

So they are both saying different things then, yes?

When that's what i would like to know. ;)

It doesn’t. If you meant buying a LB that’s not what I meant, or Ross. Current squad levels don’t preclude that.

I was talking more generally if further signings in those areas are envisaged.
And that was my original point. They're saying buying STILL depends on players leaving, yet loads of players, especially the high-earners, have already left. So what's the issue there now?

Of course we're not going to buy more players in positions we are already overstocked in, that's fair enough. But we need a LB, and having plenty extra wingers or whatever, doesn't change that!

and we are getting a LB without anyone else leaving..maybe the any more incomings thing is not relatedto finance..but to the fact the sqaud is tfull if we get a LB?
we would then have two keepers..two lbs..two rbs anf four cbs..loads of midfielers and no 10s..and three striekrs in a team that plays one up front..we dont need more players than that..we need better players than that..so incomings would be if we can get rid of one..?

presume you were moaning when they signed were you?
two very different players, both with proven track records. Im still hopeful they'll do well but then again Im generally a cheery little soul.
Youve lost me, i was basically saying its pointless signing another league 1 proven scorer, we have enough already

Thats not a slide, thats falling off a cliff.

Everyone knows the only creative player we have in the side is McGeady, but you think our problem is Wyke and Grigg on the slide?

And yet we Maja who was better than 1 in 2,with similar service.

Grigg played more minutes and scored what? 4?

I actually think Wyke was just unfit cos he liked canny at times but I think Grigg is definitely on the end. Would like nothing better than to be proven wrong, like.

maja is better than grigg for sure..
but grigg is absolutely proven in this league..so the question is, what are safc doing wrong to cause him to underperform? cou;ld it be we are hoofing long balls towards him, whereas the oher clubs he was ayt in league one had managers who understand football and so knew that wouldnt work with him/. and so plauyed a different way,a away that caused him to get goals?
Didn't selling Cattermole, Oviedo et al not free up enough cash? Is it conveniently one body for one body even though it's apples and oranges pay wise? hmm
how would getting roid of catts free up cash? we dint sell him..we paid him to leave!

of course. SD said on the pod JR is pessimist ic and he is optimistic..so we knew that already..but as they are describing ehat they think will happen..neither is wrong, yet.
and nothing jr said relates to cash available for signingd.

yo thinkwe hasvent had cash offers for mcgeady and mclaughlin and onien? and yet they are still here?
Mcgeady was never going to leave as he’d get nowhere near the money he’s on here , and the keeper turned millwall down coz the deal wasn’t to suit . Chairman would’ve had them gone .
