Bit harsh that mate. Done it for Man Utd in numerous high pressure games. He's not been fully fit in a few tournament finals & had to play in under-performing teams in those finals
Well I don't care. If he played for SAFC I might be more bothered but I don't have any time for Man U. I liked England players like Linekar, the Waddler or even Beckham but I don't feel the same about him.

Only player we have that would even have a sniff of getting in a World XI.

But aye overated, let's drop him etc according to a few basket weavers

Could/should have had a better career than he has had but he will be known as a great for both England and Manchester United.

Still say if Ferguson played him as his main striker and didn't fuck him around by playing every other position then he could have had an even better career.

Agree in full. Still the best English player in all of England and in my personal top 10. I think only Aguero and Yaya Toure are better. Top 10 below and only my personal so slating I will take but be nice lads....

1) Messi
2) Ronaldo
3) Suarez
4) Ibra
5) Bale
6) Robben
7) Aguero
8) Yaya Toure
9) Rooney
10) Riberry

The way people say Rooney didn't live up to expectations you'd think he'd ended up a Championship plodder or done a David Bentley

Only England fans could criticise a player because he isn't as good as Ronaldo, ludicrous expectations. I wonder if Argentina fans call Di Maria overrated shite because he isn't as good as Messi?

Not the best but a very good player and our best player.

I would not say a very good player. I would suggest excellent player. He contributes so much more than just score goals which at 46 is amazing given the talent we have surrounding him. He will surpass 50 and become England's all time A match scorer. He tracks back very well is better than Ronaldo and Messi defensively and his passing and free kicks are excellent. Hard worker with football mentality. Rooney is a fantastic player and few who say otherwise can go straight to hell.

Yatzee!

Aren't only 2 of them in actual tournaments though?

6. But considering he's played 17 tournament games, he was struggling with injury for a couple of the tournaments and he's been in a poor team with the exception of 2004, his record isn't that bad.

Rooney gets so much stick because he isn't Ronaldo or Messi and he hasn't won us a tournament single handedly.

I just don't like him, can't stand Ronaldo either.

He won't be 30 until next October and is quite amazing really when he will have most likely broken a record that stood for 45 years before he reaches 30 with much less support then his predecessors.

There was a time where he could/should have been dropped, he's not invincible. And he wouldn't have a sniff.

Very good player, never lived up to the hype of when he was a teenager.
