Every club has hard working local support surely-is there anything special about Derby?
As for Rooney he played many years for the top club in England at the time Man. Utd winning lots of trophies.Unless he moved abroad to a Barcelona or Real Madrid don’t see how he could have achieved much more.
Is that simple enough for you.....

I regard him as being as one of the all time great English players (most outfield England caps, most goals for both Man Utd & England, despite not being an out & out striker, could & did play in a variety of positions). He won plenty of stuff with Man Utd but if he looked after himself better he could've continued at the top level a bit longer & won even more.

I like him and I wish him well.

I would loved him to have played for us and have the chance to watch some genuine quality in our strip.

I’ve always said it, but if I had to choose a team which had the same player in positions 1-11, Rooney would be the player I would choose (just ahead of Gary Rowell). Superb all rounder, proper footballer.

Amazing stats and trophies yet in my opinion could have done even better if he’d been a model pro like ronaldo

Its not fair to compare him against 2 of the best players of all time. Rooney was a top class player but those 2 lads are in a league of their own.
 
Never rated him as a player and he won’t last long as manager. Some salacious story about his private life will come out at some point and that’ll be the end of that:
