Not really.

Thinking the word white is racist is not right wing.
That's what the Woke want you to think.
Ha'way man. It's a kids book with a few words changed or removed and in no way will it take away a kids enjoyment of the books.

If you are offended by such a neither nowt nor summat situation you are a bigger snowflake than the people making the changes.

Mad how the Woke twist it isn't it?
They remove the word 'white', because they are offended by it, but when normal people object, they try and pretend that they are the one's that are offended
Absolutely loopy.

True, but surely it depends on what colour model is being applied, additive or subtractive?
No, not really.

White is just the opposite of black. Black = no light bounces off it and hits your eye. White = all light bounces and hits your eye. Colour = Only certain wavelengths bounce off and hit your eye.

Its really more about photon energy release from electron orbits, but that's a bit more complex.
And by electron orbits, I really mean energy probability fields, but that's even more complex.

If the books were written all those years ago with these same words removed\changed, would it have taken away your enjoyment of the books as a kid? Would you notice?

A simple yes or no will do.

But that's only for true black and true white, which are pretty much nonexistent in real life?

Ah... just realised I'm about to argue against myself about shades!

I think you've missed the point haven't you? (Probably by trying to be clever)

Out of interest, did the removed words spoil your enjoyment? A simple yes or no will do. Were you shouting #BLM at the BFG's coat?

Who let you out of your box?
Still obsessed with woke I see. Interesting that you now give them a capital letter. It's like you consider them a legitimate entity or something...
Look at a prism - it shows that a full spectrum of light can be split into its component parts - these are the colours. You can then recombine the colours to re-make white light. Colours are the same as things like radio waves, X rays etc - They are components of light radiation.

Black is when no light is reaching your eyes from that specific area. Basically, all the photos are absorbed and turned into another form of energy in the material.

Black is an absence of colour.

Black is an absence of colour.
So what should black people be now? People of absent colour?

Don't be facetious. People with darker skin have more melanin in their bodies than others. Saying "white" or "black" can over simplify things, but it's more commonly used. People are classed as Caucasian / Afro-Caribbean etc.

Here you are - "Melanin is a substance in your body that produces hair, eye and skin pigmentation. The more melanin you produce, the darker your eyes, hair and skin will be."

Is this really that much of a big deal? This (faux) outrage serves its purpose for the right wing in grabbing the headlines and takes the cost of living crisis, strikes, etc off the front pages.
This old chestnut. Nothing else can be debated because of manufacturing of outrage by the right wing to obscure what is really really important.
The problem with that is people are engaged with other issues and some things like language and literature are quite important too.
I’m sure there are plenty of threads on political forum to discuss the important things.

Doesn’t quite answer what I’m asking though.

So it matters little to you if books are tinkered with. Why do you think others who it matters to are offended snowflakes?
Are people with different opinions automatically offended and snowflakey?
