Of all the football clubs Sunderland had to be inspired by, it just had to be one with a black and white-striped strip.
That Udinese are Ellis Short's ideal model of how to run his own club should excite and genuinely encourage Sunderland supporters.
Their colours are best ignored.
Udinese - how many times have they won the CL or European Cup like. Meh, so now we aspire to mediocrity... if it makes us the 7th biggest in the world then I'm in.
Ah there's that typical SMB attitude
Ah white text ya bastard!
I think you'd be suprised, it would probably be a better list than who we've signed.
Really, I think he has a point. I can't think of many that have moved from us and become a superstar or even became a more high profile player.
Our best play (by far) in recent years doesn't even get off the bench at villa anymore
People tend to forget something essential. Most of the players bought by Udinese wouldn't get a work permit in England. The buying "young players from all over the world" isn't as easy for Sunderland. It would be a nightmare trying to get work permits for all those young brazilians, argentinians, ghanaians, chileans, colombians...
There's a thread on this board of who the last player we signed from each club was, the more telling question would be who the last player we sold to each club was, because I don't think there's a single example of anyone going on to achieve anything since the premier league era began, indicating we are signing junk.
It seems there is wholesale change in how SAFC operate in the air, which seems like a good thing, but could also be a total disaster. My prediction for finishing position next season: 7th, 8th or 20th.
I haven't seen anything indicating De Fanti and Angeloni having actually signed anything with the club, is this an actually done deal or is there still time for Everton to sweep in at the last minute?
its very rare we sell a player on and make a profit,we usually take a big hit financially on 80% of our dealings.
Which is why were partners with the Belgians, their a lot more easy going than the UKs permit people. Have you nivver played FM man???![]()
They'll need to play about 3 years in Belgium until they get citizenship, no?

outed mag just keeps making an arse of himself -must be on the weed.
Here's me thinking Italy and Uk were both in the EUUdinese can ado it because there are fewer work-permit restrictions on the continent.
