Tbf, when I completed the survey on your site it was because you asked for fans opinions. Nowhere did you mention you were then going to share that information with a '3rd party'. I am pretty upset by this as I trust that RR is fan run (to a large extent' however, I would have thought pretty differently if I'd known you were just going to turn it over to the club as part of another cynical attempt for them to raise revenue by using you lot to do their market research for them.

Not once did you guys say you were going to share this information with anyone else. Have you heard of data protection?!

Very poor form on the part of RR and pretty sly imo.

Why couldn't you just have told us what you were collecting the data for? Also I'd like to know if you were paid to provide the information in any way?

Paid? The fuck

RR seem to have jumped into the SAFC bed to stop the negative articles recently. Has any one heard how ALS are doing with their new tie up with the Club...not seen one thing in over a month from them other than bus trips.?

This just isn't true. Do you think we tell any of the writers what they can and can't write about the club? Really?

We do this because we are passionate fans that like to voice our views. Nobody is stopped from being negative about the club, or positive for that matter.

I dont get the bitterness towards any of our fanzines/podcasts/fan websites as they are run by proper fans just trying to help the club/ combine their passions for media work. i may not agree with things they say but if i dont like it il simply not read or watch the content.

Nor me. It's solely restricted to RTG, bizarrely. Some of the stuff that gets said about us on here baffles me. I'm just a season ticket holder that likes to blog about my feelings on the club - we have lads living all over the world and country writing for us, young men and women that are studying at university, older lads that have been going for decades that just so happen to be handy when it comes to writing - fans from every demographic. Some of the accusations, like suggesting we have a pro club agenda or get paid by the club to write positive stuff, couldn't be further from the truth!

Anything negative? What's your position within the club??

Season ticket holder of 20+ years. Other than that, nowt!

all i can say is that we have heard it all before and been let down big time...like most other supporters i really want to see a difference at the club but here we are rapidly approaching the season start and besides the players who have come in (all competent enough i am sure) we have yet to see any real commitment from the club to show they will be making a push for a fast return to the premier.

Your latest report appear to have taken to producing a Narrative that seems, to me at least, promoting the Clubs agenda . Exactly what is RR link up with SAFC? We know ALS have jumped into bed with the Club from the statement made some weeks ago but that seems to be for a business arrangement and monetary gain..

I wasn't having a go at you personally mate. I like what you all do at RR and generally think you all do a good job and are obviously passionate about the club and want to do your best in any way you all can.

But if you have just done a load of research on behalf of the club and not been paid (only if they asked you for it) you have been taken in.

I also worry (as someone who does want to be constructive) that you have met with a new team at SAFC tasked with 'handling' you as RR so they can continue increase their control of information disseminated by the club. I worry they have met you as part of a corporate media communications strategy rather than through a sense of loyalty to supporters. I say this because you didn't meet decision makers per se. You met the media team. If they had given you access to short or Bain it would have been different.

Like I say, you seem decent people. I am just concerned.

Finally, if you knew all along that you were going to use the information in a meeting with the club it would have been cool if you had let us know when you asked us to participate. Talking about transparency and being less than transparent is a little ironic.

All of this is just my opinion though obviously. I'm genuinely not having a go. Keep up the good work at RR.

Out of interest, why?

Why not send invitations out to random season card holders?
Always been the same with the club. They will invite certain cliques along to brown nose and feed with shite whilst having the opportunity of a photo with Kevin Ball making them believe everything is fine. They should invite random season ticket holders instead of the usual suspects time and time again. ALS have already jumped into bed with the club, RR look like they are doing similar. Embarrassing to be honest, in no way independent anymore which is a shame

Looks like a new PR drive

Signing up folk as columnists too, another incentive to stop trashing the club

Im struggling to understand the issue.

You buy tickets and go and watch the match. Afterwards, you leave. If you no longer want to go, you dont. The tickets are cheap compared to many clubs are they not?

Why does it need a discussion with the club, what are they doing that is so bad anyway?

And secondly, why are so many on here so bothered that RR are having a meeting with the club, going on like they have slept with the enemy or something.

Seems like nothing and nothing to me.

Since Quinn left the clubs PR has been very poor there is no connection from the club to the fans at all. Some of the clubs social media is embarrassing-constantly using smilies, emojis and trying to big up players who are shite like Jones it doesnt come across like it has been done by Sunderland fans.
Leadership is a problem-no communication, strategy or vision has been provided for years everything just seems to be done on the back of a fag packet. I havent seen any of these things improve since Bain came in either he has gone quiet since last Christmas. Managed decline and jam tommorow seems to be all he is good for. These fan meetings seem to be a closed shop too they arent publicised or raise any difficult issues so much for transparancy.

The best media strategy in the world falls down pretty quick if a team can't win a game until October. In sport that is the be all and end all..Ronaldo seems a complete cock..but who would give a shit about that if he signed for us? (I know...not exactly likely)
