in the pod it was opposite way around...jack was saying one striker was enough and stewart insisted on buying a second one..

onien played well against a kids team...now i would have played him instead of power for sure..

He showed more endevour to get into the box than any other midfielder this season(as you say was v kids but good ones).Even Sat showed effort to get forward....deserves a run in my opinion as we need more goal threat.

How much stock and credence does he give to statistical analysis such as the expected goals ratio and does the discrepancy between our performance under such measures and our actual results concern him (or maybe please him)?

Is it possible for any Manager to assess how they're going to change a club over the mid to long term when the average job term is so short?

Could it be argued that Managers actively stifle a club's long term progress due to demands of getting instant results, so they keep their job? Meaning the system is set up to fail.

Can managers suffer from a lack of motivation when things are not working well short term and the worst thing that could happen is leaving with a payoff?

What would be his plan to have the club in the Premiership in the next five years and be financially self-sustaining?

How involved with transfers is he? Does long term planning go into them or because we are hoping to be promoted render that too complicated?

Is he happy with the current structure of the scouting network? Does he believe that British players are primarily needed at Sunderland? What improvements if any would he recommend in this area? What are his thoughts on Brentford's set up?

How involved with the academy is he and does he see himself being integral with its running?

He has spoken about being financially responsible due to wanting to be at the club for more than a year or two, how does he balance this with supporters who get fed up with boring football even when only losing two games all season?
These questions should keep Ross out of mischief for the duration of the podcast. Good work!

I think our progress in the Checkatrade has given us a bit of a false impression of our home form. It's been pretty hit and miss in the league (fair play we're yet to lose one like).
Possibly. I demand a recount! I'm off to dee some statistical sleuthing!

Detective work concludes you are categorically right & I was wrong. Thus my proposed question to Mr Ross is hereby withdrawn, with no order as to costs. I consider myself a broken man, not worthy of this esteemed digital platform. I will write out 100 times (in cursive, nay, copperplate hand): "I must not rely on thoughts as being an accurate representation of reality."

What has been the most surprisingly difficult thing about the job? Something that you thought might have been much easier than it's proven to be. And on the flip side, has there been anything that you thought was going to be really difficult that's turned out to be fairly straight forward.

Does he draw any influence from leaders in other sports or industry? Has he spent much time in other industry / sports to see how they handle similar challenges to ones faced by a football manager. Can he recommend any good podcasts/books/videos on leadership / management?

If he could wave a wand and change one (tangible not just 'win more games') thing about the club overnight, what would it be? Same question but about Football in it's entirety.

What does he feel are the three most important changes / ideas that he has already brought to the club?

How much time to the first team actually spend at the AoL during a typical week. What does a typical day / week look like for him and the squad?

Why are professional footballers seemingly incapable of getting a corner past the first man?

Does he ever send a team out to entertain, or is it simply about the result? (not a slant towards him or his tactics, just curious as to whether managers ever do this)

A JR podcast? How interesting! I mean, he does his media stuff every week doesn't he with his pre-match interviews but this should be a nice change of pace for him.

First of all please show our appreciation for the turn around job he has done. He has us within striking distance of an immediate return to the Championship and a small upturn of form would guarantee it. The biggest and only question I would love to hear him answer is the tactical answer as to why he persists with 2 deep sitting defensive midfielders. It is stifling the hell out of us and I can’t begin to understand why he thinks we need to continue with it.
