Roker Rapport Podcast: With Jack Ross & James Fowler - Questions?

Good pod overall, like JR and Fowler seems decent too. I don't want to moan because RR have done a good job, but for the next time I personally think it would have been better if specific tactical issues were raised. I know it was mentioned that teams raise their game against us but I would have liked their thoughts on things like why we lose the midfield to inferior teams for example. Why does the keeper / defenders kick so many long balls to short forwards ? Why do we not have more movement on throw ins ? Just off the top of my head I'm sure there are many better ones.

I wouldn't want them to have an uncomfortable grilling for the sake of it, but I would have liked RR to have drilled a bit deeper into the tactical side of things and commented on things that aren't quite working as we would like. I don't really think they were challenged too much, if at all in this area.

Fully agree. I enjoyed it and I thought both came across well with JR in particular looking relaxed. But I thought the interviewer bottled it on the defensive midfielder approach at home.
Nevertheless, JR did state that they were looking at ways to have more men further forward!

Cracking watch and listen. Really enjoyed. It's great to just here pieces like this just to give you an insight of certain things. A few things he said, had me agreeing i can't argue with that reply, even though i've questioned certain things myself. Well done RR keep up the good work

Brilliant watch that. Thanks and well done RR.

Slightly gutting that it was relatively so short but only because I could listen to that all day, I understand why there had to b a limit on it from Ross and Fowler’s point of view. I thought RR did well to make use of the limited time available though.

I think Potter is the joker and more light hearted part of their team. Maybe a good blend, the players always seem to be having a laugh in the training videos.

I actually think Ross has quite a dry sense of humour and it’s not always easy to relax and get your personality over in front of the cameras.

I know what you mean about Walker though and I have wondered myself about what impact his departure would have.
Yeah they mentioned Potter and referenced he was more of a joker.

Probably coincidental but Walkers departure does coincide with the ongoing slump in general performance.

Enjoyed it, well done lads.

Hopefully we are actually looking at ways to me more attacking.

Good listen/watch, you don't see many managers wanting to sit down and do a talk in for a fan club podcast.

I notice a few seemed disappointed that he didn't get a grilling but I doubt it was ever set up to be anything like that, I enjoyed that it was light-hearted but with an insight as to how things work.....could you imagine Moyes, Bruce or Grayson trying to do anything like this?...not a chance.

Keep them coming lads.

Just watched - very good. Thanks to the Roker Rapport lads.

I have been a little critical of JR this week as I would like us to be a more positive in games which I stand by. However, I think we are in good hands with these lads, they are intelligent, articulate and talk a lot of sense.

We have a big few weeks coming up - Onwards and upwards!

I think JR said he didnt want to give too much away...hopefully we are going to be more positive and play with 2 strikers or at least the midfield supports the striker much more.

He didnt want to give too much away but ever so briefly mentioned getting more bodies up the pitch
