Honestly never knew that. I always assumed it was red.
I dont think anyone did bar me. No one ever picked it up before. It came to my attention years ago when I got hold of an old issue of World Soccer from 1964 or so. shows Charlie Hurley in action at Roker Park v Blackburn Rovers. It was the first thing I noticed. No one has ever written the history of Roker Park and it would be an interesting project.

I'll hoy a couple of images up for you all to look at.

The old badge looks better than ever. Unfortunately SD stated it would cost too much money to change it back, but with the work being done buy RAWA, its making its own independent return. We just need to Rowell 78 kit for the away strip next season.

Were the crash barriers the same colour and painted red later on too?

I think I would say something.
Saw a few kids with Wembley flags, maybe this was the case. I sincerely hope so.
