Roker Park latticework makes a comeback...

a fair comment but the idea as things stand is to give us a proper 'home end' I think. It's also fairly pricey so the pros and cons have to be weighed up. This is the most cost effective way of incorporating the latticework into the stadium. The club provided advertising space and has given us guarantees that the space that has been used is ours to use.
Not nit picking in any way whatsoever. It never entered my mind to criticise as I appreciate all the work done. It was just an observation and I was not putting it forward as an idea and something I personally would have loved to have seen. I have allways been baffled why the old lattice was not incorporated in the new stadium, somewhere round the pitch.

yeah, no problem mate. Everything we do is out there for debate. Happy to explain as best we can. Our focus as things stand are with the Roker End but this is a long term project so who knows where things will lead in the future.

Its just a shame we didn't incorporate the original ones into the stadium. Well done to everyone invilved though.

Definitely mate. One of the first things things I asked when I became part of the RAWA was the whereabouts of the original lattice, and if we could have it in the stadium.
As someone already said, it wasn’t realistically possible to move it, so hopefully this will be the next best thing.

Historical fact that the original lattice work wasnt red and white. I think it might have originally been green and white and certainly as late as the 60's it was the unmentionable colours. It wasnt until IIRC the 70's/80's that it was painted red and white.

I think you've all done a great job mate and it'll really add to the place. Its just a shame it was hoyed in the car park in the first place. The Clock from The Clock Stand should also have been brought imo.
