Welcome To Sunderland now needed along the back of the stand

Would agree but theres absolutely no space for it. The people at the back of the stand can hold their hand up and touch the roof of the stand. The away fans wouldn't be able to see it either due to the scoreboard being in the way.

Would be nice to get it in somewhere though.

Anything introduced to cover up bare concrete is a positive, well, maybe apart from adverts as they will all be different styles and so just look a mess.

The SoL can come off as a bit of a generic concrete bowl. It's one of the reasons the new seats look so good as they really add huge amounts of colour and something to look at. Anything to add colour and reduce grey will make it more "ours" and less generic.

I was googling the lattice work in Roker Park and the majority of pictures show them covered up with adverts. Must be quite a few oldies on here remembering them bare :p

... ahead of Friday night's game against Doncaster the Red and White Army have installed Roker Park style latticework to the Roker End!

The Red and White Army have also added an additional 30 large flags to our collection and they will be on show on Friday night too.

Roker Park latticework makes a comeback - and MORE flags ordered in time for Sunderland v Donny

Well done to all involved. Anything that helps us to remember our history and improve the atmosphere is a good thing in my book.

They're giving up advertising space and potential income to allow this to happen. They could have just said no to this and the flags but they're actually helping with them. Mind, you'd have loved it if they'd have told the fans we're not allowed to do it anymore.

fair play good point

No adverts on them throughout the 60's and maybe the 70's too. There was a large wooden board and a clock on the halfway mark, they used to put a long poster on the board showing who the next opponents were at Roker.

Would look good along the front of the west stand upper tier And the north stand

Move the branch flags to the south stand and hang them from the roof

Wonder how much that would cost? It's the fans that are paying.
