Rodwell

I'm not absolving him of blame, I'm well aware of his failings, I just think that sometimes he's an easy target to pick on. Defoe had a couple of great chances and didn't score, he's had a brilliant season, but I don't think he's had a brilliant season so excuse his misses anymore than I think Rodwell has had a shit season and excuse his misses.
Good or bad a miss is a miss

Because some won't move from their position that he's shit regardless of what he does.
And completely f***ing up two great chances is considered good stuff these days? Maybe I'm missing something.

I don't think I said him f***ing up two great chances was okay, of course if I did show me and I'll stand corrected. What I did say was Defoe and others missed equally decent chances and don't seem to get the same criticism Rodwell gets.
I'm under no illusions as to Rodwells failings but fairs fair.

Is there? Or is it just because he's the easiest target? Is it his fault we paid daft money for him?
Since he signed for us, he hasn't shown anything to prove that he can compete at premier league level. The money is almost irrelevant. He can either do it or he can't. IMO he can't.

I saw Messi and Ronaldo missing good chances recently. We should make a thread about them, not only about the easy target Rodwell.

The team had a better shape and worked more effectively after Rodwell came on IMO, we have what we have till season end

But all of that isn't his fault, it's the fault of those that signed him, and if I remember rightly he was a signing that was pretty much universally welcomed by Sunderland supporters at the time.

People assumed that he'd been scouted to some degree. Clearly he hadn't been. He was signed on his 'reputation' which was essentially created by the media.

Lots of clever f...kers in hindsight on here

Totally agree with that. Bit similar to Wickham actually. That tosser was signed on reputation as well

played well last 2 games when hes come on, i would actually play him instead of catts next game.
I said it before the Utd game. The role Cattermole is trying to play is custom made for Rodwell. Basically the one of three defensive midfielders with the freedom to get forward. A bit of good fortune and Rodwell will hit his straps, i'm convinced of it if he can just hold off the boo boys long enough.

Dont know of Rodwell is better coming off the bench when the physical graft is done. Maybe Catts can do the hard work and Rodwell come on when legs are tired. Rodwell clearly cant graft which needs to be done in the first 60 minutes or so

Some posters shouldn't be allowed Internet.
Yeh he's shit because the keeper made a fantastic save.
Exactly this! Was a mint save and then a unbelievable tackle the save with the angle it was he had nowhere else to put it!
