Rodwell

I thought he done well. Should have scored.

I'd start him on Tuesday

I thought he looked okay in the limited time he had on the pitch, got himself into the positions to score, which is an improvement on the majority of his season.

Would you drop Cattermole for him on Tuesday then Rocky?

I pride myself on it.

As for people saying he did well aye, let's laud someone who had 2 very good chances (1 better than a penalty) to possibly help us out of this shit and fucked them up.
Doesn't matter if we go down, as long as we miss sitters eh? Great stuff
Don't think anyone is praising him for missing the chances, however seeing as we did nothing prior and he was the only one to get into decent positions I think it shows promise. It's pretty obvious his confidence is shot and he offered more than both m'vila or cattermole in his 30mins

We lost he should've done better with the chance as should 1 or 2 more of our players with theirs

But aye lets blame Rodwell

At least he gets in the box to support the forward - more than Cattermole, M'Vila or Kircchoff are capable of. Played his best decision today for me, higher up the pitch, in front of a defensive duo. He's not box to box and he's definitely not a good defensive midfielder but after coming on, he looked our most likely scorer. You might tell him to fuck off but personally I'd give him a run of games in that CAM position.

Cattermole and M'Vila are better defensively but Rodwell is much better at getting in there to support the forward. Just as Cattermole looks lost when he plays higher up the pitch, Rodwell looks lost when he plays deeper. I don't like Allardyce's obsession with starting each game with all 3 defensive midfielders.

Definitely. He's not playing well at all. Looks lost

Agree, Cattermole looks lost an gives the ball away way too much for a creative position. Khazri or lens inside is the answer for me

We've gambled on Allardyce's obsession!

Nobody will take on any shots and pass responsibility with this sort of attitude. He did okay, he got into the positions which is a good start.

I agree, do you think it's his position playing too high up the pitch which he is uncomfortable with?

I like Catts but if we are going with MVila and Kirchoff as the back two then I think it's silly to play Cattermole just to get him in the team, when there are maybe better suited players we could utilise there.

Me personally would be looking at Seb, has the work rate but more quality on the ball and in the pass than catts. It's a huge decision for BSA in the next game though and not really a time to be experimenting. I think he will start with Cattermole tbh.

Thought he looked great when he came on. Was unlucky with his couple of chances then had another nicked off his toe by arguably the best player on the pitch when he took too much time. His shots were on target, unlike those that fell to Defoe. I think he's starting to look like the player we paid a stupid fee for. There were at least half a dozen worse players than him playing for us today. This place beggars belief sometimes. He covered more ground in 30 minutes than Mvilla did in 90. It's no f*cking wonder the lad looks scared to play it he reads some of the bilious sh*te on here.
