I went to Arran when I was 15 on a geology field trip with school. I expected the shops to be full of Aran jumpers like I had when I was a younger bairn, knitted by my Mam. When there was none to see I asked why and was told they were from Aran in Ireland.

I've that useless bit of info in my head for about 36 years
