Roberts

Seems like a bizzare suggestion in the current football landscape but I would play him on the left with Clarke on the right and try two strikers - it cant be any worse than last night
Been crying out to try inverted wingers for ages tbh.

I’d also like to perhaps only play one of Roberts or Clarke, and use a more conventional winger on the opposite flank. Someone who can whip a ball in and cause havoc.

Can you please explain why Roberts is in the team. Week in week out he gets the ball and runs, thus ends with him running into a defender, producing a pass that is so late because he realises he is about to run into a player or he just shoots nowhere near the goal. 17 games and he has zero goals, zero assists.
He's in the team because he contributes more than Bellingham and Bellingham is the first one that should be called out.

He’s been pretty poor for a while now but found himself behind Seelt a lot yesterday so not sure if that was some sort of tactic but seemed really daft - surely you let Roberts try a bit magic and if it cocks up you have your right back in place to try and deal with the aftermath

Ba done well out there, notched up a goal and assist or two but as soon as he has an average ish game he's out of the team while Roberts can play 4 or 5 games being ineffective without being dropped.
Ba has contributed much more to the team this season than Roberts. Baffling how he’s on the bench tbh.

I'm not the biggest fan of Ba but he's got more of an end product than Roberts and that's saying something!

We could have taken the 5m from Southampton and we'd have been no worse off
Ba is woeful, Roberts has quality, things will happen for him eventually

He’s got the talent. His decision making has been poor this season.

Not helped by amad not being there to overload his side.

Large kick up the arse and needs reminding he got his own way over his contract now he needs to earn it. No improvement by the end of December get him sold.

If we had someone who would overlap on the right he would be much more effective.
At the moment all the fullback is doing is showing him the outside whilst someone is covering any move to the inside. The same is happening with Clarke, who has a bit more pace and strength than Roberts and can go wide successfully at times.
It was even more obvious than usual last night so why oh why don't they switch wings occasionally and aim to get to the byline and cross the ball?
That’s why I would have replaced Seelt at half time, he offered nothing in the way of support.

The 2 stats at the end are very hard to ignore.
