Roberts Linked With Celtic

We start turning over our best 2 players we might as well give up. Speakman has said we are going for top 2 this season. He's also said we can't let our best players go and do this. He needs to make his mind up.
I've been following Sunderland long enough to know when the fans are behind them the team are capable of anything. When the fans aren't behind them the team couldn't beat a pub team. They're at a cross roads, finish this window without another striker(preferably our own) and selling Roberts or/and Clarke for anything less than daft money and things could go very wrong very quick. It's pretty much nailed on Batth, Gooch and Pritchard are going. That makes out squad a hell of a lot weaker and unbalanced. Anyone defending the possibility of that are mental.

Reminds me of being called a bed wetter when we were relegated from the Prem. It was all, oh we'll clear the decks and win the league. There were a lot of people predicted the free fall to league 1. At what point do they become realists 🤷🏻‍♂️

Still 10 days to go - depends who comes in and who goes out - need to wait and see.

If we let proven players go especially our best players and replace them with loan or unknown lads that need time to settle, it will be a disaster. Hope I'm proven wrong. But the fact we haven't signed the striker that's meant to challenge Stewart for nearly 5 transfer windows worries me.

It’s a total made up non article ever story from Nixon has a negative slant against us.

No point selling Roberts we get very little for fee wise get him on a new contract.

He really is great and a joy to watch but I've no idea how people can say he's better than Jack Clarke mind. He's just not. If you were a full back and wanted one of them in front of you you'd pick Jack Clarke, if you were a striker and you wanted one of them creating chances for you you'd pick Jack Clarke, if you were a Premier League manager and could take one of them to develop into a first team player for your side you'd take Jack Clarke.

Great to watch and his ability to beat defenders with a bit of skill is unmatched but there's a significant amount more to being a football player than dribbling ability.

It’s not even close really.
Clarke was twice as productive last season despite the vast majority of our play going down the opposite side.

We should definately not be a selling club if we are not bringing in better, I would be well hacked off if Clarke / Roberts go, but I can see it happening.

After last season I was hoping for a genuine push at the top 2, ie to keep what we had (minus Amad) and add some real quality to push us on. I can see us getting a lad or 2 in up top and then flogging one of the lads who should be teeing up their goals, fingers crossed we avoid it.

It looks like the club are going to sell before bringing anymore bodies in. If he’s got a year left chances are he’ll be away.
