Roberts and that piece of skill

Lots of positive posts flying around after a heartwarming performance and result.
But, unless I have missed it, I don’t think anyone has highlighted Patrick Roberts sublime, world class, mouth watering piece of skill in the second half.
Clarke ( who was magnificent last night) hit a 40yard cross field pass high to Roberts who had a defender all over him……Roberts plucked it out of the air without breaking stride, he caressed the pace out of the ball and placed it delicately in front of him before driving forward.
The price of my season ticket does not do justify to that magnificent piece of theatre and skill. Thank you Patrick .

It was class but not worth a huge wank owa. Importantly though it’s miles more impressive than anything the bloke he f***ing replaced could do. The absolute shithouse. At one point he was passed the ball in acres and instead of running at his fullback passed it backwards. There was a very big hole Ba was hiding in last night

Might have better close control but Malbranque was more productive and performed consistently at the top level. Roberts needs to play in the PL before we can assess his worth.
Just meant close control when running at pace.

You point is valid but Malbranque is a tad over rated on here. His productivity at times was below par and he often got plaudits for basically running in a circle.

I'm 65 and can still dee that man.
I said that about Clarkes drag back in the first half . It was my party piece

I thought Steed was from an era of likeable " big" names who never really gave a return .
All opinions I suppose

Yeah. Was right in front of where we sit - whenever there's a long/high ball played I say to my son "it's all about the first touch" - that first touch was out of this world. If Roberts could finish, he'd be a top 6 PL player

I didn't feel the need to wank owa roberts' skill there mate, but the op's prose had us nudging ffs, was like a reader's letter in a jazz mag or summat.

On one today the op like. Going right overboard about things.

First ekwah will be a star for France within three year and now this about a first touch.

Get a grip

Malbranque played at the top level but he wasn’t productive either.

His record was abysmal. Class to watch though

It was a good job for Leeds sake that he didn't start the game. There was so much space on taht right yet Ba, couldn't do anything with it. It almost looked like he had too much time to think about what to do and f#cked it.

Was thinking if it wasn't Roberts who was to come on. Rusyn or Meyanda may have been decent punts for that spot as it would get them running at the defence with the ball.

Some good positives about the players, team set up and formation last night. Really excellent stuff.

The post was to highlight a piece of great skill by one of our players.
But you have used it to abuse one of our young players….. your a very sad man.

Moments like that make going to watch football worthwhile. It was beautiful

Much better than Malbranque.
Roberts is my favourite current player but until he's done it in the Prem he can't be compared to Steed.

Wow! Imagine being this miserable. It was a beautiful touch, and yes one of our young lads had a poor game.
