Roberts and that piece of skill

big winnie

Midfield
Lots of positive posts flying around after a heartwarming performance and result.
But, unless I have missed it, I don’t think anyone has highlighted Patrick Roberts sublime, world class, mouth watering piece of skill in the second half.
Clarke ( who was magnificent last night) hit a 40yard cross field pass high to Roberts who had a defender all over him……Roberts plucked it out of the air without breaking stride, he caressed the pace out of the ball and placed it delicately in front of him before driving forward.
The price of my season ticket does not do justify to that magnificent piece of theatre and skill. Thank you Patrick .

It was absolutely beautiful! I can’t think of many who has or had a better first touch that’s played for us, possibly sessegnon. Brilliant it was

Aye, immense. I knew what this thread was going to be about as soon as I saw the title.

I'd also like to mention Luke O'Nien's clever bit of game management towards the final minutes when he intercepted a cross into the box, but instead of putting his head or foot through it to invite another wave of attack, he controlled it, went driving out of the box and drawing a "foul" that played the Leeds forward like a fiddle; it helped to relieve what was a bit of relentless pressure from Leeds.

Mentioned the other day about 2 lads who sit in front of me at the match, they appear to really hate him for some reason, they were even shaking their heads when he lost the ball a couple of times last night.

Baffling.
