It's a shame, said earlier on in thread he's my old teacher and his temper is tremendous. I hope he gives Bain the hairdryer on way out of door cos I bet it can make fergie blush!
However if he is saying he's gutted to be going I know for a fact that the programme is not losing money, cos even if it was losing a penny he would walk away without question

He used to go full red hulk like

Superb teacher though, and writer.

I notice Bain has dissapeared off the face of the earth since the New York and redunancy fiasco.
I thought there was supposed to be more openess from the board to the supporters. Part of the so called new identity which seems to have fallen by the wayside.
Another f##k up coming with the unvialing of next seasons strip.

Absolute disgrace, the man is a sunderland legend in my eyes.

And to think if we had of finished 2nd bottom tis season....the extra 1.5million would have covered the programme costs for a few years.

Absolute shit decision in my eyes to save what...30-40k?

Disgusting decision
He should have been promoted to club historian and programme editor,
and put in charge of the club museum ( bought in ) and relocated next to the SAFC shop at SoL

He already is/was the club historian and programme editor. Totally agree mind that it's a disgusting decision to give him the chop.

I was talking with him on Saturday and will probably see him tonight too... He is not a Happy Bunny. I was given the impression from some of the natter that he would happily rip off one or three heads at the club. A sad day for SAFC.

How long has he been editor? To settle an argument

Since 1986. Went full time in about 2000

Putting Bradley on the cover of the programme instead of a player was Rob's idea

Excellent match programme (as always) last Saturday....a Rob Mason penned tribute to former SAFC keeper Cameron Duncan who passed away recently aged only 51, and also matchday steward Norman Matthews aged 96 who worked at the club for 37 years. There was also a pic of George Forster in the Supporters Cub shop...plus other news and info about OUR club...Appropriate too that the final matchday programme (written by Sunderland folk for Sunderland supporters) had a photo pull-out of Roker Park and The Stadium of Light...
