Rob Key advertising for Test and white-ball coaches.

Gary Kirsten and Graham Ford express interest in England head coach roles, with Simon Katich also a candidate; Ricky Ponting and former Australia coach Justin Langer not in contention, Sky Sports News understands; Ben Stokes expected to succeed Joe Root as Test captain

Hasn’t coached at that level since 2013

It’s changed a lot mind

Root had to pick players who’d not played a red ball games in months previously for example
Rob Key has never done a cricket administrator's role but you didn't think that should preclude him from being managing director of the England cricket team.

It's not like Kirsten hasn't remained involved in cricket.

not saying that like, I;d probs go for Kirsten, just saying thats the downside of him, he was quality, has he lost his edge after 10 years away?

Its possible like

Key is absolutely a risk btw but he is the opposite of an ECB man which appeals to me, rather than Giles who spoke and acted like a suit.
