RLB press conference 2pm

Poveda is London born and raised, should be no language difficulties.

He is, I was referring to RLB mate. 😀
Aye forgot about the old language dodge.
Was a KS punt same as with the other bad lad Connolly and Samed dont think Reg had anything to do with getting them.

Yeh, he was a punt. To be fair I'm up for that, as long as we get rid ASAP when it doesn't work.

On the win at Sheffield Wednesday an there's areas RLB was not happy with, what have they been working on: RLB states it was an important week and we've had a period of time to review our model, what we are doing well and not. RLB states the season is long and it's important to keep the conistency. Sometimes we struggle and we learn from every experience and this week showed sometimes that even if we struggle the next win is then very important.

On how we keep it fresh for the run in: We've reduced the volume slightly. We have to keep the intensity and manage the fatigue both physically and mentally. Because we love football it's still about the game and playing with our strengths and reinforce our confidence and we can just make some adjustments to reduce our weaknesses.

On an average training day, how do we break it down? How has it differed after Mike Dodds and now Allesandro helping out: We involve many people in many different tasks, and everyone knows our game model and it wasn't a case of rebuilding anything. People can slide from one position to another very easily.

On being clear of 5th place and any difficulty to keep people motivated: RLB: I don't think so, if we focus on our game and the willingness to win the next one we will be fine. It's our job. When you are chasing 2nd place you have the extra motivation but it's not the main motivation. The main motivation is to play and win. After that we can only control some elements. The others are out of our control. If Leeds, Sheff U or Burnley do well until the end of the season and we finish 4th it is good for us, but if they are better than us over the season we have to accept it.

On Cardiff new coach, and consistency: The game v Cardiff was a good game, we won late on. They struggled but we felt they had good players, they didn't find the right dynamic. Sometimes it is difficult to understand. They have good players and we have to play our best football. We know that we are not inivncible at home because we lost to Hull.

On Cardiff scoring v Burnley: Obviously they're a threat. We analysed their strengths and weaknesses but it is about us. If we play to our strengths we will create chances and protect our goal and hopefully win.

On Hull being a timely reminder to not let that happen again at home: It was not because of confidence, we had other games where we were pushed to our limits but it is important to be consistent, this league is special and we can't dominate everyone we have to be consistent and clinical.

On Mayenda taking his opportunity: It's good news to have 2 good strikers, they're doing well together and sometimes they play together. They are well connected. We are lucky to have 2 good strikers with a different style of play and different personalities. They are pushing one another, well connected with the team and are 2 hard workers. It's positive for the coaches and the club to have them both.

On a change of formation to play both Mayenda and Isidor: Its possible, but we have 11 games and we have a small squad so at the minute I am more in the mindset to manage everyone rather than putting everyone on the pitch, it;'s important to play well. Sometimes it's important to refresh the team and at Sheffield Eli, Leo and Browny did well.

On the run in: It's not finished for the playoffs, we need probably 10-12 points to finish inside the playoffs but we have to continue to build momentum. We have to use all available plauers to help the side. We have to keep the same consistency about the learning process. If we keep these ideas we can build strong momentum until the end of the season.

On whether it would be helpful to see us really dominate a side at home: I would like, would obviously be nice but it is not that simple. Sometimes we have some good periods at home but it wasn't consistent across the full game. Sometimes it was game level, sometimes it was finishing, if we can combine both it's our main goal but it's not just a statement we have to create the conditions to be dominant at home but we have an opponent who want to stay in the league and it will not be easy.

Does our league position give us the luxury to change the formation? It is still important to maintain consistency. At the moment, we don't have the opportunity to waste time. Consistencty is key and we've done well so far but we have to continue.

How much has RLB enjoyed this season compared to his other managerial campaigns: It feels special. The connection with the club is really positive. At this stage of my career I want to be connected with the fans, the club and the players. Sometimes you work with a group that doesn't fit with what you want to do, but that was not the case here. I have really enjoyed the season here.

What would it mean to achieve promotion? It's very rare in a career, we'll see, expectations are high but we don't get carried away with positive or negative emotions. It's very important to stay focused and if we achieve something let's see, but we will work hard until the end.

On self belief and other sides dropping points: We are still positive, many things can happen so we have 11 games lef to play, 33 points, so it's massive. We will see.

Cameras off.

Apologies for a few weeks off, my 7 week old daughter has been keeping me very busy as well as getting back into graft . Forgot how hard it was to type all that out!
Cracking effort...Is there not an option for AI to generate a summary transcript?

If there is I don’t know about it and it would’ve made that half an hour a hell of a lot easier mate  At least you know I’ve listened, understood and relayed it as best as I could. It’s the effort that counts!

I'm sure there will be.
We've done it at work before. Stick a recording of a Teams webinar through ChatGPT and it can give a summary as well as the key messages, picking up themes which are repeated throughout the presentation - even if the presenter hasn't planned it

That may be my next step!

Noticeable that lots of the questions and the answers implied that we have given up on top 2.

While its hugely unlikely, I wouldnt give up on automatics quite yet. 11 games left. 9 wins and 1 draw gives us 93 points.

What an absolutely disaster and waste of a signing he has been. But looking at his career and injury record it’s no surprise.
But why Speakman gave him a 3 year contract is mind boggling !!
He’s given us nothing this season, other than keep the physios busy. And you just can’t see that being any different going forward.
We need to get shot in the Summer.
Pretty sure he will still be here next season. Which club would be daft enough to take him off us?
