Ridiculous we threw the towel in for automatic promotion 3 games ago

'Why wasn’t the manager coming out and saying he wanted us to go on an unbeaten run until the end of the season and go for it'.

And that would have made all the difference, would it? If only he'd said this, we'd be in an automatic spot by now. What an idiot RLB is.
If only RLB had watched Field of Dreams.... "If I say it...it will come"

The top 3 are nowhere near as good as last season's top 3 - who will all be back again next season.
Totally disagree with this idea. Leicester and Ipswich ended the season on 97 and 96 points respectively. Top 2 this season are on course for that and by the way, Leicester - who won the league - got beat 11 times. I don't think there is much difference in the standard. I don't see where this idea that this season's top 3 are 'nowhere near' as good as last season.

Going big in the January transfer window was the only realistic chance we had of getting automatics. We didn’t, and we don’t have the experience, depth of killer instinct to win games at the rate that Sheffield Utd and Leeds do.

It’s about being better than everyone in the playoffs.

We went massive by bringing in Le Fee. Everyone knows how big of a signing that was, he’s just been hit with the SAFC curse

We haven’t thrown the towel in, we just aren’t consistently good enough for automatics.

I only hope we can find the form and approach we had at the very start of the season….we were aggressive, played with pace and intent and teams couldn’t handle it

One player isn’t going big. Certainly not when he doesn’t actually fit into the team.

We needed at least one proven forward as a minimum.
I think Mayenda has been good enough and will get better. To me, we don't have a CF problem. I would have tried to get a better goalkeeper in though.

Awful lack of ambition. Must have been around 36 points left to play for at the time and only 7 points behind 2nd now. Top 2 was still achievable. Why wasn’t the manager coming out and saying he wanted us to go on an unbeaten run until the end of the season and go for it. Instead we have this complete lack of ambition again where we have decided the play offs is a good season even though we were top. We basically wrote the rest of the season off with about 12 games to go as long as we stumble across the line into the play offs it’s seen as ok. It stems from the top. Owner not desperate for promotion, neither is owner and it rubs off on players.
5 games ago but aye.

Manager and owner out now, and all they had to do was demand an unbeaten run.

We’ve got seven points in these three games we supposedly threw the towel in.

Aye, we’re finally rotating the squad and changing tactics. But seven points, plus a bit of squad management given we are 95% probability going to be in play-offs, seems fine.

We’ve got a young inconsistent squad of players. We have done well to keep up with clubs with far bigger budgets.
What we've got is a starting 11 that has been flogged with squad players getting very few minutes for game time.

Regis constantly waffles on about players being connected to the team and Identity and what not. If he doesn't give squad players minutes, how are they going to get connected as he puts it?

Watson is definitely not connected enough to warrant a start.
