Ridiculous Comment From Moyes----Signing players will be more difficult now

Half the first team wouldn't be throwing in transfer requests if Allardyce was still here. He would have signed Mvila and numerous other first team players, rather than a bunch of kids.
He definitely wouldn't have spunked 5.5 million quid on McNair and Love, so we'd already have been stronger.

Ive got us struggling just like the Welsh at rourkes drift, a little bit of careful planning and we overcome those nasty Zulus, this is still possible.
You'd probably have been that drunk of a clergyman who got pissed and sent packing on the wagon!
I'd have got the Victoria Cross, you'd have been the drunk clergy man's daughter you wet wipe.

Honestly mate, i dont think Moyes saying that we are in a relegation battle to the press is the only thing to indicate to potential signings that we are infact in a relegation battle. the first team squad of 12 players, the league table, and the past decade do a good enough job at that.
Did you actually hear him say that, not in that video he didn't. What was typed in the text and what was said on camera were two different things.

the prices, as you can imagine, are a bit more than they have been in the past."

Aye true, but what he forgets is that all premier league clubs this season are getting an obscene amount of tv revenue so it's all relative

What a f***ing shite excuse

Of course if he had got his business done early then the players would already be in and would not have been put off by the debacle that has occurred since. We say he has only had 3 weeks but he was aware he was getting the job (or was likely to be) well before that, he was already talking to BSA and should have hit the ground running with targets already identified and brought in quick sharp. Instead we have had 3 weeks of largely sod all action, couple of Man United kids in who will I believe be cracking players at some point but not yet ready and a new centre back....Unfortunately he manages to lose both our first choice centre backs during that period, presided over a stunning number of injuries and has had to put out a squad of kids......Moyes has had a nightmare with this statement, what on earth was he thinking of?

If he said it, maybe its a ploy to get short to stick his hand into his pocket? Mind games

You can see him being gone before October is out. It's absolutely ridiculous and comes down to the approach the owner expects managers to take.
Moyes will be here for the next four seasons.

Given the recent crass, but refreshingly candid, comments I am now further confirmed in my suspicions that he knew what the situation was going to be by the time of his discussions with Short and took the opportunity of trousering a salary of what is likely to be around £3m per year for the duration of his contract.

The complete lack of any inward transfer activity prior to Roy Hodgson's resignation, suggests that Allardyce had previously found himself hamstrung. The three weeks of inertia whilst awaiting the FA's decision was appalling but not insurmountable, had the new manager been briefed about the squad (indeed, Moyes could not really have been unaware of it prior to the invitation to discuss the job and appointment

He's going to destroy his reputation here, irreparably. I don't think Short lets on quite hoe bad it is when recruiting managers.

I think he'll look to shift the blame when push comes to shove and that's usually enough for Short to peddle the manager.

Both Poyet and Dick have made noises that they didn't get the players they wanted, and were left getting 3rd or 4th choice due to the club. Poyet said that after he left, Dick implied it while here. I think PDC made similar comments. It also didn't seem Allardyce got what he thought he was promised and this was reported by some fairly reliable people in the media.

Some of our managers have been poor for their own reasons, but IMO there is no doubt the club hasn't made it easier for them.
