Richardson

he's neewhere near as bad as folk on here make him out to be. His tackle in the first half after tracking back (allowing bardsley to nip in and run off with the ball) was superb. He also produced the best cross of the game for Welbeck's 2nd, did he not?

2nd best of the game unfortunately - Baines's was a belter

Either play him left back or just don't play him. I don't know what he brings to the team in midfield.

More energy than his potential replacements ?????? despite his headlesschickenness his grafting was instrumental in getting us right on top of Everton once Cahill had scored

Frustrating sums him up, his touch at times is shocking, if Bruce had him running with the ball full pelt for 2 hours a day, for a month with the premise to keep it under control at all times we would have a good player.

You can sprint Richardson without knocking it miles out your feet

although Baines' cross was fantastic, he had 3 people in the box (well in the centre anyway) and picked out the correct one. Richardson's was better for me. A crowded box, floated it towards Welbeck to flick towards goal.

He's a bit like when you used to sprint on the old Pro Evo's, and it would knock the ball f***ing miles ahead.

I though he was decent tonight. He has his faults of course but he is a decent player for us at the moment.

Shows how far we have come.

As I said to my mate, he's like a 7 year old taking a 40 yard run up - then stopping to kick it.

i.e. he has no clue what he's going to do with the ball when he has it - no football-brain or vision at all.

I applaud Bruce for how he used Rico against Chelsea, but at home it has to be Zenden/Steed - Catts - Henderson - El Mo for me. El gives pace and arial ability aswell as energy.

Its a shame like as he really doesn't need to do it. If he used it in the right circumstances it wouldnt be too bad - Ala when he is side by side with a full back and has loads of space in front of him - Its when he tries to cut inside doing it that fucks it all, or on the edge of our own box as he so dearly loves

spot on,anton suffers the same delusions too

AGREED, but we can see the problems why doesn't Brucie. The quicker we get Malbranque back on the left wing the better. Going by this seasons performances I think our best line up would be, when all fit

mingolet
onuoha bramble mensah bardsley,

elmo cattermole riveros malbranque

gyan wellbeck/bent

Who has been absent from the starting lineup in our best matches this season, bar Man Utd, and he wasn't there for that either?

Do you like Malbranque?, I'll put you down for a no;)

No, I do. But everyone in the last few games has done too much of a job in their position to merit Malbranque coming in over them (same with Elmo), with the exception of Henderson but he is an ever present of now it seems.

Our best midfield is Zenden, Catts, Malbranque and Zenden, in some order or another, in my opinion.
