Ricardo Fuller and Asamoah Gyan ..........

I think its a good squad signing - we need some strength in depth upfront and some options. Anything up to £3M is good business and as its SCFC we can just offset against KJ money.

Said on another thread - his main handicap is his attitude, but a fresh start in a new club under a good manager - I can see this paying off for us.

He isnt the top level striker signing, but noone is suggesting he is. As a move now I think its a good one. Owen? Boothroyd? Carew? I'd take Fuller.
Better finisher than the other 3 put together:cool:

He is shite I would not have him for free.

There are some deluded people on here.

Like you, turning down a premier league player, for free?

You might not like him, in which case just say it, but the two clips on here alone prove he's far from shite.

Go on then, lets not have a free transfer, lets have a £4M kitty that must be spent in the next two weeks - who are you going to buy? Or do we play 4-5-1 with Gyan as a lone striker for the next six weeks (genuinely interested as that is an option - as long as he stays fit of course)

£3m is too much marra, it's money that could be better utilized towards a long term signing, but even more important if we did sign him would be the length of contract. Given our circumstances he probably could a job but we need to tread carefully.

He is shite show me facts that prove he isn't.

He's going to be back up as soon as Welbeck is back - and then be replaced by a big money signing in the summer - hardly likely that we would get a world beater is it?

3 or 4 goals as a back up for next to nowt would be a good deal for us

was? yes, is? I don't know. He lost a lot of his career at SJP. Pretty sure he would want silly wages too despite no longer being the icon he may think he is. I wouldnt see a sudden rush for shirt sales with Owen across the back tbh, and he is injury prone now.

I agree but there is the 'crazy transfer window supplement' to consider - we've done well out of it so far, but unless a club actively wants shot of a player, I doubt there will be many 'at value' transfers in the next fortnight. A decent top level pro, in contract, seems to start at £2M now sadly. An injury to Gyan and even 4-5-1 looks tricky.

We need to try and sign a proper replacement even SNQ said so.

What if Wellbeck takes longer to get back or Gyan gets injured?

he's the oposite to Bent, can hold it up and get freekicks / corners / throws even bring others into the game... but can't score.

good enough for me TBH.

In the long term yes. But this is the short term. And Bruce has said quite abit that it's about the short term just now. As has been mentioned about 47 times on this thread alone. Or do you think we're all just thick and really excited about signing Fuller as a marquee signing?

could do worse

not exactly a goal scorer tho is he. this will be an ok short term solution providing we bring in a few of the midfielders were after, otherwise well be far to reliant on Gyan especially while Welbecks out
