    Yeah they've since changed it so kids are classed as missing or absent depending in risks. A lot of regular missing are now classed as absent and just left to return on their own. Police won't actively look for them. Not surprising with the cut backs and the amount of resources it takes up.

    The absents are reviewed regularly, I think it's every 12 hours, and if necessary are upgraded, which is fair enough. The number of Looked After kids that go missing from residential, but aren't really missing, they just haven't returned on time, must be almost a full time job in itself.

    that was brought in when I was still there but because of their age and fact they were in local authority care it made them vulnerable so had to look for them anyway

    if this is the case i remember then the coppers have already searched and missed the spot where they found him dead?

    thats what i thought, the one i recalled was a crashed car hidden on a roundabout, dunno if its the same one like

    they've searched the roundabout at Burtree just there..the one over the A1...poor sod is in there lying dead in his car

    There was a bit of criticism of the police at the time it happened last year, however watching the programme last night it seemed that they were immediately hampered in their investigation by the complete lack of transparency by the wife and also the amount of time before reporting it. If reported sooner then when the helicopter searched there may have been a heat source to detect but after nearly a week that wouldnt show up
