Repairing flat screen monitor

Wondering if anyone has had one repaired in the past? Mines been hit by something and half the screen has gone black with what looks like a chip/crack at one point. Cost about £350 to buy but have heard they can cost a lot to repair. Mines slightly curved too.

Claim on your house insurance.

Or bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Google the price of a replacement panel for your monitor.
If it's not too much, just do it your self, normally a few screws and a ribbon connector is all that is in it.
If you need someone to do it for you it might make it worth just buying a new one when you fator in labour etc.

I've just had to send one back to the supplied. It arrived and there was a puncture wound in the box - obviously been bashed by something. They were spot on and said just let us know when we should pick it up and I'm getting a full refund. Unfortunately that was the last one in stock so going to have to either look elsewhere or get a different model.

I've looked at the prices of replacement screens on Ebay in the past and in practice the cost of the screen is like 90% of the cost of the monitor or TV. You'd be better off buying a similar used working one.

Probably not worth fixing, you'd probably get an identical 2nd hand complete one for the same price or less than a brand new panel. You could strip it down ond then search for the part number for the panel itself.speakinh from experience

Thanks for the advice above.

Found the panel. Very hard to get hold of as the monitor isn’t made now. Would take 6 weeks to arrive from Alli express & cost 75% of original monitor including shipping from China.
Looks like a new monitor inbound then.
