I know you were just following chunky on. I was commenting on your piss take of what some are saying because on occasions we've made it look much worse than it should be, yet I think there's plenty there to work with despite how bad it's looked.

Totally agree.

I keep hearing that we don't have the quality needed to survive, but I believe we have as much or more quality in the squad as the other teams in and around the scrap.

Joey Deacon serves you.

Just as long as he doesnt lose his shoe in the fryer

This is the worst Sunderland team I've ever seen, Coates is the worst defender I've ever seen, the whole team are gutless losers and pisspots, rotten core etc etc

Other than that though, life is looking up don't you think

If we can get to January still in touch with the rest of the pack and we get a couple of decent defenders in I think we'll stay up fairly comfortably, I think attacking wise we have more than enough, especially if Fletcher keeps fit and motivated. However being able to get decent defenders in January won't be that easy.

We're far from relegated obviously, but this is probably most bleak things have looked since coming up.

We've fluked survival in 3 successive seasons via new manager bounce, and don't even have the luxury of that ludicrous strategy after Advocaat flounced out after a shambolic summer. We've got an uneven squad and critical weaknesses all over the pitch, plus a manager that's unlikely to be granted much patience due to the fact that he's a renowned bellend.

Another aspect of our survival has been cautious management - Poyet and MON particularly alienated a lot of fans by deploying the tactics that picked us up vital 1 points more weekends than not. This season, we're routinely getting humped, with results therefore at the mercy of our very inconsistent attacking options.

Pessimism is pretty logical, imo.

Bit of stretch to say we're already gone when we're 1 win off being 16th. We're only 5 points off Chelsea, if you told be that before the season I'd probably be happy about it.

£7 special=Tomato soup and a bread roll, Cod/Haddock/Plaice, (choose one), chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, bread and butter, pot of tea followed by homemade spotted dick and custard.
Spot on that mind. The equivalent at seahouses was £9.99 at the weekend and that didnt even include a pudding.

This board specialises in over the top drama. If we can get to January still in touch with the rest then a couple of defensive additions should see us right. Think we'd be a solid team if our defence could match our attack.

This has to be one of the strangest seasons for a long time. Arsenal playing well at the start of the season, Chelsea absolutely floundering and teams like West Ham, Southampton and Palace doing well.

Even though we've started badly survival is still within our grasp. I think we'll be fine from January onwards once we have some new players in who will suit Big Sams system it's just praying that we can make it to then with what we've got now over that crucial christmas period.

The defence is a shambles at the minute, but that can be worked on. Sams had a few games now to decide what works and what doesn't. Everton was a horror show, but hopefully a one off

The problem this year is that there are only five teams in the mix.
West Brom have Pulis. Stoke have Hughes. Palace are flying.
Watford would need a real slump now. Swansea probably too good.
Bournemouth and Norwich are likely down.
So one from Villa, them and us.
All with new managers.
I would back Sam over Schteve and Garde, providing Short does the same.

Can you get it wrapped up to take out and if so, what do put the spotted dick and custard in ? These are serious concerns.

Many thanks for your kind words. Do pop in, if you are passing one day and introduce yourself. I'll even throw in some gherkins.

Yes you can Mark. We put in a polystyrene box, (CFC free) and cover it in a layer of foil to keep warm. The takeaway price is the same btw.
